I just got the two SS Vamos I ordered a little over a week ago, and boy do I like them!
I chose the Vamo for a couple reasons. Where I live it's extremely hard to get vaping equipment or supplies, and what you can get costs at least double what it does in the US -- for example, the SLB eGo-V V2 (650 mAh) runs to $70, while a clone eGo-W (650 mAh) costs around $50. And no, those aren't kits, they're just the battery.
So I decided the best way to deal with this crappy situation would be to get a couple APVs that (1) are built like a tank, (2) use replaceable batteries that I can buy locally if necessary, and (3) are relatively affordable. And the Vamo seems to fit the bill.
My first reaction when I opened the box was, "Boy that's pretty!"
My second reaction was, "Holy crap, this thing's heavy!" I had no idea it was this heavy! It is indeed a tank! It's going to be pretty darned hard to use it when I'm out and about, that's for sure. But I spend a lot of my time at a desk, so I'm not really worried. I suppose I'll use an eGo-whatever for mobile vaping.
The Vamo feels incredibly solid, and the buttons inspire confidence. Its potential uses as a deadly self-defense tool have not gone unnoticed.
I worry about the threads stripping, and about the O-ring issue, of course, but I assume that if I baby it it'll keep on performing.
I've been using VW only so far, in RMS mode. I don't really see the point of VV now -- once I find my wattage sweet spot, I imagine I'll just stick to it.
All in all, I'm a happy camper!
