I just wanted to introduce myself, my Real name is Jody, nice to meet everyone, I've just started making my own vape juice, right now it's a simple VG based tobacco flavored juice, I'm using 100% pure VG, and using American Spirit all organic cigarettes, I take a couple hits of 4 cigs put them out, and put the tobacco in a pot, add my VG and let it sit for 2 hours, strain it though a fine cloth letting it sit a drip through into a measuring cup for an easy pour, then once it's all drained out I compress out all the rest of the juice and flavor I can get, a friend has given me 30ml of his 200mg PG based nicotine, so for my 30ml bottle of vape juice I make I'm mixing 29ml of juice and 1ml of the nicotine Wich I think I'm mixing it at a 6mg nicotine level, or I hope so anyway, I would like to get into mixing other flavors of juice, any advice would be appreciated and any links to sites for the most natural and high quality flavors and other products like VG and Nicotine would be appreciated, right now I'm using stuff that's been given to me from my friend but he gets his stuff off eBay from various people or vendors, I would rather use a single quality vender with reasonable prices. Thanks for any advice all of you can offer.

Hello & welcome :)
I've never done direct extraction myself and know little about it. I generally buy USP food flavorings to flavor juice. There are several companies that produce flavorings. Among them flavor west, flavorArt, the flavor apprentice to name few. There are mega threads on both tobacco extraction and standard flavorings on this site in the DIY section which you might find useful.

You need to be very cautious about extracting flavor on your own. Organic or not, those half-burned cigarettes could contain chemicals produced by a barely controlled rapid oxidation process. Those chemicals could affect the gas exchange process in the lungs. That's not something to trifle with.

If you are trying to get the flavor of a burning cigarette, try this:

Red Box NEW Version - eLiquid Flavor

Or this:

Dirty Ashtray - eLiquid Flavor

Welcome to ECF.

PS: I frankly believe that "organic," "sustainable" and "non-GMO" schtuff is a deviously brilliant way of separating gullible consumers from their extra disposable income, but that's an issue for another thread.

Just 2 drags, just enough to get the smoky flavor, I will look into your comment more, but I'm almost sure just a VG soak doesn't extract much more than flavor, I have yet to try just pure tobacco but I will make a batch without the 2 drags and see how the flavor is, my expiramentations so far have let me know 4 cigs at the least to get good flavor and a 2 hour soak.

Just be careful, man. We don't want to be reading about you on HuffPo but more importantly, we don't want anyone to come to any harm.

Courtneyniceguy, I'm sure your extractions taste great, and I'm all for folks doing what they choose, etc., and I also used "additive free" American spirits, and while I'm quite certain they had less additives, there really wasn't anyone (that I know of) standing over the tobacco makers and making sure they were additive free. Doing that kind of tobacco extraction does require a certain amount of know-how, is all Coastal Cowboy is saying. You may want to check out the NET (Naturally Extracted Tobacco) thread in the DIY forum, there is a HUGE amount of information dedicated to just that. I don't know much about NET since I'm not a tobacco flavor lover, but I do know there are various methods, some safer than others. I don't know enough about it whether to say what you are doing is safe or not-- but if you are taking drags off cigs prior to NET-ing, you are using tobacco that has been heat activated via combustion, even if you take off the "burnt" end, the tobacco remaining in the cigarette has had Very High Heat and burning smoke drawn through it, etc. So, you may be inadvertently doing yourself not a good favor.

I think checking that thread (to gain more techniques if nothing else) might be to your benefit. And, welcome to ECF, and glad you are enjoying DIY.

I used Nicotine River for a lot of my DIY stuff, will likely buy more flavors from other vendors, too, but I was happy with what I did get. You might want to start out with smaller amounts, wholesale (I did) to make sure you like the nicotine you are getting and etc.

Best of luck, and welcome to ECF!

My normal and rich tobacco juice honestly taste like you just took a drag off a real high quality cigarette, my friends will attest to it.
Welcome and glad you joined.
I'm into great tobacco DIY vapes too.
Might like to read:

Could check (if not already):
