I purchased a bunch of flavors I enjoy vaping. Mostly dessert flavors, also dessert flavors mixed with some fruit. Purchased everything from Bull City. I am interested in making a cream flavor base, custards, and fruits and creams. Anyone have a good cream base recipe. I am a total newbie at this, so please excuse my novice approach and questions. I like a 30pg/70vg blend with 3-6mg of nic. Let me know if my purchase looks like I made a sold buy. If I should add more to it.

1) I heard of milkstone. What exactly is milkstone?

2) Do I mix my flavors all together then dump in the vg/pg/nic?

3) Are you always adding to your collection?

4) I need a good DIY recipe site and a DIY calculator.

5) I know DIY process is sort of learn on the go. But I would like to master this art. I am super excited

Can't help much as my very first order came in last night. All I can say is I simply got old bottles from my vape shop purchases and washed them out. I added 60% pg and 40% vg to the bottles and then added my flavoring, just one flavor per bottle to start. I figure once I have an idea of the flavors I will mix them up a bit. I started vaping them this morning after a few minutes of shaking and letting them steep overnight. I know they will most likely get better with time but I could not wait to try them.

I gotta say I wish I had done DIY a lot sooner the flavors are great and the process really is simple.

Here is a recipe site + a calculator :) e-Liquid Calculator

You did well with your purchase, I use Flavourart and Inawera ... and maybe 3 or 4 TFA. Personally I dont like FW but, please, do not let that be discouraging - the majority of the world loves them :) I hear a lot of great things about caps as well! You did excellent by mixing up the vendors on the flavoring so you can sample across several lines and find what suits you the best!

As far as what order to mix in - Personally, I mix my PG and VG (amounts based on calculator in link above) then I add my flavors and then I add nicotine last. Everyone finds their own rhyme or reason, but this method works for me in order to ensure no contamination of my plain PG/VG or nicotine with flavors. Shake the heck out of it and always give it a taste - you cant know how it changes without taking a sample fresh. Some flavors need to steep a week and some are great in a few hours. :)

1) Milkstone is a cream base for mixing with other flavors. It's Bavarian cream, coconut extra, and sweet cream (tfa). A Google search should give you the ratios.

2) That would be fine.

3) Of course! Almost every time you see a recipe that looks good you will be missing a flavor or two.

4) I usually cruise Ecf for recipe ideas but there are several dedicated recipe sites, I don't use any but a Google search for "e liquid recipes" should get you started.

I use "e-juice me up" calculator, it's not perfect but it works well enough.

Your purchase looks decent but you'll soon find out that you'll need LOTS of 5ml - 10ml bottles for your test batches and I'd recommend getting more syringes in 1ml, 3ml, and a couple of 10ml syringes for your base.

Other than that you should be pretty solid.

As CreepyLady said, everybody has their own way of doing it.
I add the nicotine first (I mix in my juice bottles). I use 100mg nicotine and "suit up" before I open the bottle (gloves and eye protection). Plus I don't want the nicotine sitting out very long. Putting it in first allows me to wash up immediately after using it and putting that bottle away before I knock it over!

Then I add my PG, then VG and then my flavorings. probably the reason I use that order (other than desire to get the nicotine out of the way) is that is how the ingredients are listed in the recipe calculator I use. I follow it so I don't forget something or forget if I had already added that ingredient.

Have no idea what milkstone is...

I also have one syringe that is clearly marked NIC in red marker. That is the only syringe I use for nicotine. It and the rest of my stuff is totally cleaned after I finish mixing.

I prefer fruit and berry blends so I do add to my collection occasionally. I like to order the same flavorings from different suppliers to see which I prefer (example: blueberry from TFA and FW, etc).

Good luck and have fun!!

Love the comments guys, thank you.

ar10, I set aside about 25 bottles the past couple of months because I knew eventually I was going to start DIY'ing. I have about 5 glass bottles which hold 30ml and 20 plastic 30-50ml bottles. I let them soak in hot water first, than mixed warm water and vodka and let them soak again and then another water soak. They smell brand new now

creepylady, thanks for this. I think I am most comfortable doing it your way. I based my purchased on the bestselling on bullycity. I figured the most popular flavors must be the best, hope I am right about this.

Doggie, I was scared you were going to say the collection is going to keep growing, haha. I was really hoping to find 3-4 ADV's. But from the looks of it, people are always expanding their taste. I already went down the rabbit hole with my devices, At least now, the money I spend on juice will go towards DIY and in the long run save me a ton of money.

Lurch, I was scared to purchase 100mg. I tend to stick between 3-6mg. I dont have any kids or pets, I am clumsy and I just know I will spill some of it. If all goes well, I can save a couple of bucks going up to 36mg for next purchase. Thanks for the tip, I will mark one of my syringes for nic to not cross contaminate

Disastrous, are glass bottles preferred over plastic? Is glass better?

Thanks again for your input and suggestions. I really do appreciate it

My Biggest Suggestions would be...

1 - Keep Detailed and Accurate Records of EVERYTHING you Mix.

2 - Don't Test or Tweak a Recipe before it has sat in a Cool Dark Place for 3 ~ 5 Days.

3 - Always work over a Tray or a Shallow Lipped Pan. (Spills Can/Do Happen!)

4 - It is Usually Easier to make a Weak Flavor Stronger than a Strong Flavor Weaker.

5 - READ, READ, READ All of the DIY Sticky's and DIY Blogs.

6 - Don't Beat Yourself Up trying to make Microscopic 2ml Test Batches. DIY is Dirt Cheap. Make a minimum of 10 ~ 15ml Batches.

7 - Don't Get Discouraged. DIY is Kinda a Journey. And there will be Failures Along the Way.

I'm sure there are a Bunch of Other Good Suggestions. And you will Figure Out much as you Go.

Just Don't EVER Forget the 1st Suggestion.
