Richmond, Va...Right in Altria's back yard.
I just bought one of these from a new brick and mortar in my area and Im impressed.

I'm running it with a 100 percent vg and there are no wicking issues or muting of flavor like Ive experienced with ViVi Novas in the past.Nice, solid construction...no worries of cracking the tube (because of the pyrex) clean taste and ease of use.

I think they have a winner here

i vape dekang 20pg/80vg and zero dry hits. absolutely loving the protank.
i've got a crapload of iclear30's coming shortly and im curious to see how it compares.

i saw someone mention that the protank coils cost more than the evod coils. i dont understand why that is since the cost from wholesaler is the same for either one of them.

Will the tape have any adverse chemical reactions or anything? i had broken a t3 before i got my protank and glued it back together with nail glue and lets just say it went in the trash fast lol it tasted horrible so im wondering if the glue on the tape would act similarly

Teflon tape is used widely on most plumbing u drink from. I don't see much of a chance any well get where it's not suppose to the way the hole ways are designed.

Definitely. I've been alternating between the two heads (use one for 3 days, soak the other in water for 3 days) and both heads are vaping like new still. The 2 five packs I ordered are going to last for ages.

Curious as to the benefit of soaking the spare head in water for three days. Is this necessary? Or is it just to keep the wick moist? I have my spare heads just in a ziplock bag in my vape kit. Am I doing something wrong? Or shortening the life of my spare heads?

Thanks!

As I don't have a sonic cleaner yet, I soak the head for 3 days, run some hot water through it, then let it dry. So far, I haven't had any gunk up to the point to where I have to toss it. And I'm running a heavy juice in one of the tanks, too. :)

Sounds like a good procedure to me... Thanks!

I'm also one week in with my ProTank and Im loving it! Have some replacement heads on the way for it as well (protank and evod) I can't pick which I like better. Like it so much in fact I've got ANOTHER ProTank in the mail :D :vapor:

I haven't gotten the courage to take it to work with me though, switch out to a vivi or vapeonly bcc mega for that. I'd hate to break it :(

Hey re-builders...here is something I'm not seeing you folk mention.

You using NR wire on those "rebuilds"? If not, enjoy SMOKING that rubber. Which, in turn, always had me thinking, "well, we just got un-healthier than cigarettes".

What I'm saying is...when you disassemble the coil base, you see that rubber grommet you pull out? Well, if you don't have NO resistance/NR wire as the wire getting pinched for those final connections, well, you are just sending heat down to that grommet, and smoking it.

I just got a huge spool from Clouds of Vapor for dirt cheap.

I've never used NR wire on any of the Vivi's or T3's heads that I've rebuilt, and I've rebuilt them many a time. My grommets are not burnt. If you're burning the rubber grommet, your wire is getting excessively hot due to a hot-spot in your coil or something to that effect.

That would be my take on that matter..

"NO resistance/NR wire" ?? Excuse my lack of knowledge, but if you are using NO resistance wire what is your heat source for vaporizing the e-liquid ?

The NR wire would just need to be twisted onto RW for the "legs" so the heat would pass through to the metal head more freely, end result being the rubber would only get hot.

From what I've noticed on any vivi or stardust heads the manufacturers don't use it either.

I don't recommend it but...
We'd probably be better off rolling up 10 or 20 rubber grommets and smoking them rather than smoking a pack of stinkies.
Neither would be very enjoyable. JMO.

I would agree with Dusty_D. I have never had a grommet get burnt. As far as using NR for just the legs ---- I can't imagine the patience that would take -- I'm a fireman, not a jeweller :2cool:

Right? I know it can be done. I just can't be bothered to do it. Replacements are cheap. And they last a while. Not worth the aggravation.

I used the Protank on a Twist. Worked very well, too.

Depended on the juice I was using. Could be anywhere from 3.8 to 4.2 with the 2.5 Ohm coil.

funny you mention that. i am now realizing it really does depend on the juice! like you i'm using anywhere from 3.6 - 4.2 now what would be the advantage of using a lower ohm coil if any when you can adjust voltage? is there even one.. i can't see one but, im pretty green still ;)
