Disregard, toddos. Apparently, that recommendation was prepared before they sent the batteries pre-charged. I will, however, go ahead and give it a full charge before I use it. Thanks again.
Not sure about ecig batteries, but many camera/phone batteries have a chip in them that keep track of the capacity of the battery and tell the charger when it's full. It doesn't actually measure the battery, it is programmed to take the maximum from the first few charges when new and store it. (One chip works for any size battery) After that it doesn't matter what you do, it uses that stored number to talk to the charger to say it's full. Say you get from 200-300 charges out of a battery, it doesn't matter if it's a 10% top up or a full charge, when it does it 200-300 times the battery will be spent.
Occasionally that stored number gets out of whack from some malfunction and can be reset. Resetting theories vary. One is you can empty(never 100%) and fully charge a few times and it will reset itself. Blowing in automatic ecigs is another.
I always fully charge, use to almost empty, full charge, empty, fully charge, with every new battery. I use a ton of them with my work. After that I do whatever I want and they stay consistent for a long time. Some more expensive battery chargers will allow you to recalibrate your batteries for you to reset occasionally. They appear to first drain them automatically and charge them very, very slowly.
