So I have been browsing here for a bit. I started with the nasty mistic ecigs from walmart. I can't tell wether the damn things are done or not. And they make my throat scratchy but real cigs will not do that.

I ordered the Volt pro kit with the menthol burst. Anything I should know? I plan on ordering a sample of cartridges soon too so I can find a flavor I may like. I also got the 65mm auto battery.

Can the carts be refilled with the juice or do I have to buy an empty cartomizer? I'm guessing a lot of people like these. What I am looking for is some good taste and lots of vapor, more than what Mistic gives me, and I guess the nicotine since I am still going through strong cravings.

awesome congrats :)

yes they can all be refilled :)...with any flavor you want just keep in mind the flavors will mix for the first few fills if using a different flavor.

Yeh I have been drinking more liquids than I would with a normal cig. I also wish I could vape at work. I work at a really professional company and I don't think that vaping in my cube would be a good idea as there are people always around me. When I used cigs I would have to walk half a mile behind the building. Now I think I will just go out the front and stay near by.

My tech lead says if I quit smoking cigs I he would give me five dollars every day haha. Also now I can get $5 bucks towards my check if I elect on my benefits that I am a non smoker. I don't think vape counts as smoking although who knows what others will think.

My order shipped today. I will be giving away my mistic kit soon. I hope to post a review in the review section of the Volt when I try it out. I also converted one of my friends to become a vapor too. He bought the Blu kit and I told him he should have waited until I told him about the Volt. He is thinking of waiting for the kit to arrive and he may return it for a Volt as well. My other buddies make fun of me because I don't use cigs anymore but I actually enjoyed smoking so vaping allows me to keep doing that while at the same time cutting down on the nicotine!

Congrats, Sze, on making the right step towards quitting smoking and with a great ecig! Volt and SI have yet to let me down! My husband gets a lower rate on his insurance if he's a non-smoker. He vapes, too, but hasn't quit the analogs 100%, so this year he's still paying the higher rate. Maybe next year he'll get the discount! :) Anyhow, like everyone else says, drink lots of water. Good luck! :)

I'm going with the Don't Ask Don't Tell approach to vaping in my cube at work. The HR manager is pro-ecigs, and already told me it was OK to use them on the patio (where smoking is not allowed), but I wasn't going to push my luck asking about doing it at my desk too. Most people around me already know I do it and don't mind. Not sure if my manager realizes it too. I just set it down or palm it when it wouldn't be appropriate to be seen. And since it looks like a pen, it doesn't bring any attention. Been doing it like this for over a year now :)

On the other hand, the corporate ...... that decide about health benefits have decided that ecigs are the same as smoking, so I have to pay the $80 penalty each month. Not worth risking my job by "lying" about it, even though I'm in the right.

just got a life insurance policy... and i came back as a smoker as well... apparently they do only test for nicotine... even if you say nicotine alternative like the patch or gum or whatever that is all they test for :( have to be at 0 nic for insurance companies it seems.

Bummer. Here we do an awesome thing for our health, and get punished for it. Sigh. Hopefully things will change in the coming years when vaping is more widespread and accepted.

Congrats. Yes, vaping is not smoking. They can twist and bend reality as they want to see it, but it's not a cigarette, and it's not smoke. If it is, then patches and gum are smoking too.

Ouch on the Blu. Yeah, a refund and a SI or reputable kit would be better.

I've already told my team members I am trying to quit by using an ecig. So who knows, they may not care if I use it in my cube. Although the majority of others that work around me are a lot older and they may say something to management without saying something to me first. Would suck to loose this job over that. I can't believe that some count it as still smoking just because of the nicotine.

Counting vaping as smoking is like saying that circles aren't round, or that water isn't wet.

I find it funny that a usual argument against vaping is "But it looks like a cigarette, and people will be confused," when their insistence on comparing it to smoking is what makes it confusing.

In my opinion, when others want to dictate that you not vape, they have crossed the line from concern about smoking to controlling what people do with their bodies. In my state, anti-smoking groups are working to group PVs with cigarettes in the public smoking ban. These do-gooders believe they can project their personal biases on everyone else.

As far as work, I can see how an employer may just think vaping in their workplace "looks unprofessional," although that is completely subjective.

Yeh I bet if the office structure was more laid back they wouldn't mind. Its just hard to control cravings like that and having to wait until lunch to walk to the smoking spot anyway haha. With a real cig, I wouldn't need one every hour or so more like every 5 hours.

If there is a single occupancy restroom, it's possible to vape, since the vapor just dissipates quickly without a trace.

I can relate to the adjustment to vaping. The body definitely absorbs nicotine slower with vaping, which I would say is why smoking is so addictive, as one cigarette is a huge rush of nicotine into the system. Any powerful and quick method of ingestion (of any substance) is going to be very psychologically addictive, because you have to maintain the effects. The longer I have vaped, the less I am "jonesing" for nicotine.

Yeh and I notice that with vaping you seem to have less cravings as you get used to it. No single use bathroom here but at least the weather is nice I won't mind going outside. At least my gf is happier that I do not smell like smoke. I would literally have to wash up after every cigarette because she could not stand the smell.
