I haven't used a Prodigy 3.1 (I do have one of the older ones). In general:
- Familiarise yourself with
battery safety. Use protected
batteries or consider using safer chemistry batteries, for example
LiFePO4 (3v - suitable for stacking in 6v configuration) or the AW IMR Lithium Manganese batteries (3.7v).
- Its better to charge the batteries early rather than run them until they stop working (which risks over discharging them). Keep a few sets but if using stacked batteries avoid mixing up different types and batteries at different states of charge.
- Keep all the threaded areas (battery cap, atomizer adapter etc.) clean. Dirt build up and corrosion in these areas will cause a loss of performance. You may want to use something called
Noalox to maintain the conductivity of joints.
- Do not over tighten atomizers onto the adapter - finger tight, or until you feel the slightest resistance plus a 1/4 turn should do it. Over tightening will damage the atomizer and could cause a short.
- If you've never used high voltage before take care not to blow the atomizers by overheating them. Shorter draws are needed to produce a lot of vapour compared to standard e-cigs. If using 6v you will probably want to use high voltage atomizers.
Thats about all I can think of. Enjoy your Prodigy
