So, last week I saw the Lavatube Volcano mod for $15. Then, I saw the iSmoke MVP for $40, but missed the color I wanted. Then, I saw the 'gripper' mods for $10. Then, I saw a great deal on an rba...

.. I missed all of these deals by taking a day or so to research, consider, think about and ask questions. By the time my mind was made up, the items were sold out.

As the vaping community grows (me being new to it, and part of that growing community), these deals seem to get snapped up quick. If you see it, and like it... BUY IT or it will be gone when you decide to get it.

Agreed, and don't brag about the deal you found here at ECF until you're sure you've bought everything you want to buy otherwise you'll send everyone else over to clean out their stock.

i disagree... while these are great deals, and are worthwhile, great, etc, etc, etc...

there is a problem with your theory of just "pulling the trigger" if you arent sure what you are looking for... and you get something you dont want... or isnt for you... you have essentially wasted that money...

if you have money to waste go for it... i dont... i research things extensively... i would rather spend an additional 10-30 heck even 40 in a certain scenario and be sure that it was something i would want, use, and be happy with...

saving money is great, but wasting money sucks...

idk, just my personal opinion, better to know you want it than to see a good deal on something you are unsure of, and be unsatisfied with it...

i saw a lot about the mvp, was interested in it... but wasnt sure about it... tried one, wasnt for me... of course i try to be frugal with money in most aspects of life...

I too am frugal... which is why I am frustrated with missing good deals! Not that I needed all of them, and in the end, I wound up with my second color choice on the MVP, which will be my first step away from the eGo style batteries.

I could have used the cheap tanks, I would have loved to get a good mech mod for $15 to try them out... I will still research and ask questions, like I have said in other posts, I dive in to hobbies head first and run with it, and this new one actually has a health benefit.

Mech mods require extensive research. They are dangerous.

Regulated mod for $15? I'm game any day, PULL THAT TRIGGER! Lol

Okay, so I did some creative editing of these two posts, so sue me. I want to stress a point here.

*IF* you know exactly what you want *AND* it shows up at a great price, then BUY IT before it's gone. Things do go fast once they make an ECF post.

On the other hand, *IF* you are uncertain, take the time to RESEARCH it before pulling the trigger, otherwise you may be throwing money away.

If there is any uncertainty at all, then it is better to just let it go. Deals are RARELY true "once in a lifetime" deals. If it comes around once, it is very likely to come around again, the only trick may be in finding it. Of course, YMMV!

HTH!

ECF has a classifieds forum. All you need to do is get verified and you can buy and sell there. It's nice because if you buy something and find it's not what you expected you can sell it and get back probably 80% of what you paid for it.

Research Shmeesearch... Just buy it... with this addiction you can always give it to someone else who wants to quit smoking...

It doesnt even have to be awesome, just a teeny tiny step up from an eGo and a CE4...

I saved 1800$ so far by quitting smoking. probably invested 600$ in gear so far... maybe 900$ counting all the cig-a-likes I blazed through... if I break even I am happy, if I spend more and feel more healthy I am happy... I spent 50% less and feel great!

Next time you fnd a gripper mod for $10 let me know. I would snatch one up in a hurry.

They were there for quite a while before I made the decision.. maybe a day and a half. It's pretty amazing the variance in prices on some of this equipment... I mean, the eGo style batteries even can be $6 one place and $26 somewhere else depending on brand, quality and where you get it... so each thing does take some looking in to.

I guess I am just kicking myself a little for missing that Lavatube for $15, and the grippers for $10. Of course, I did the right thing looking in to them, and, being new to this, do not have batteries, chargers and the rest, so until then, I have to factor in the costs of those things when I see something I am interested in.

I will probably not follow my own advice, since I can't throw money to the wind... but having less money than I would like means that deals are important. I am always surprised how much I paid for my original eGo kit and the spare clearos now that I know better.. but I don't regret it at all.. without them, I might still be puffing on tobacco.

There is no reason to hastily jump on items or sales if your not sure what it is or if you want it. that isnt the only place or time that item will be sold somewhere on special, as the market keeps dumping more and more gear every day usually what was on sale today is that price permanently in a couple weeks somewhere else..
