Ok, so I loveee how smooth the Joye510 hits - I bought all VG juices after having issues with harsh hitting V2cig made me choke each inhale.

Here's my problem. I've watched videos, read tutorials, tried different methods and I'm having the same problem.

I've tried 5 different flavors, 5 separate cartridges, blew out the factory primer from the atty, primed it with my flavor, soaked my filler to slushiness........they all taste the same, and it's not a pleasant taste. I ordered my equipment and juices from Vicki at Cignot, I doubt it has anything to do with product.

Is it because I'm going with VG? Why do they all taste the same? And nottttt good. I can't taste the menthol, I can't taste the coconut, the fruit, vanilla coke - if I do it's only a very faint hint, with this main current of something nasty - like plastic-y.

I put one to 3 drops on the atty, I've tried filling the bottom of my cartridge w/ 7 drops, put the filler in, hold it to the side w/ paperclip so the juice flows down, fills up to slushiness. I make sure the cartridge isn't dry. I don't get it! I can't give up analogs with this flavor. I tried VG because of the harsh throat hits I was getting w a different piece of equip, and I knew it says w VG u sacrifice slight flavor...but there's hardly any flavor! Any suggestions?

Hi Sully,
I am new here and am having the same issue as you~ still holding on to my analogs. I have been experimenting with juices
and have resorted to DIY juice making. I have found some ejuice that I like, but it isn't like burning that analog. I am at a place where I have to make a decision one one or the other, can't afford both habits. I have a DIY kit coming and have over a dozen flavorings so if I can't make the cross-over after this~ I will give up. I sure hope you can find something you like. I use a 50/50 mix PG/VG, maybe that will help with getting the flavor you are craving~

If you've done everything right with the equipment, it can only be you. Process of elimination.

You don't say how long you smoked, but I'm guessing it is your nose.

You taste vape through the receptors in your nose. (Mostly).

Easy experiment to try: Exhale through your mouth and then exhale through your nose. Does the taste of the vape change at all? Which way has the most flavor on the exhale?

You may think everything is fine, but if the right parts of your sinuses are not open, your sense of taste to vapor is next to 0.

I actually have the same issue with some atomizers I just got over the weekend. I can get about 3 good clean hits then burned taste. Top it off again, about 3 good hits then burned synthetic taste...even when dripping. Not sure what's up with that. What's even more odd is they're reading a bit high in resistance, about 3.9ohms. I just went back to my cartomizers. Slightly less vapor but less issues for the moment. Maybe there's a bad lot of atomizers floating around.

the best luck I have are the standard 510 atomizers that came with my black ego. I have extra long ones that taste burnt, and dont produce near the vape, although I do get flavor.

Sully, if you send me a PM, I would be willing to send you 3-4 samples of my favorite juices that have a lot of flavor. I just do not have empty 3ml bottles. If you send me some, I will put a little taster in each one, and mail it back to you. Send me a pm if you are interest, and let me know what flavors you prefer, or think you prefer (tobacco over fruit, over dessert) my dessert ones offer the most flavor in my opinion, however I am not big on tobacco, but I have some popular ones.

Hiya:)

I've just vaped my 510 for the first time and freakin love it too:) The plumes are amazing!

I started with DIY juices and flavors. I made "Grape" first. I smell the grapes VERY strongly but the taste is faint. The scent of grapes stays in my sinus passages for a few minutes after I vape. The room smells like grapes:)

I don't know if we are supposed to taste the flavors or just smell them? We aren't licking the juice so I don't know how much our mouths can taste the flavor?

Two of my flavors smell stronger- the Gingerbread and the Cotton candy. I think there is variation to the potency of some flavors. I've read that people REALLY love a flavor called Cinnabomb because it's insanely strong. Try that:) And some people choose very strong menthol flavors because they want that 'kickass' feeling in their throat:)!

Good luck:)

P.s. Gosh I feel a little stoned ! I made my Nic juice 15 mg and I think I may need to cut it more LOL! I haven't gotten a rush from a cig in years :)

Pss: Just vaped Cotton Candy and it is indeed much more flavorful that Grape:) That's why I am making all my own juices- so that I can make them insanely flavorful because I am the one adding the flavoring:)

I have yet to vape, receiving mine today but browse the forums outside new members area. Many people said its taken about a week to notice any improvement for taste and to just keep at it. I to ordered from cignot. So I might be saying the same thing you are now. Just don't smoke any analogs is my only recommendation. In time when taste buys come back, you might even still prefere current taste to analogs.

Hi, Sully. There is some truth that the VG has less flavor, in fact no flavor really, by itself. The PG by itself is not a great flavor either, but it seems to act better as a carrier of flavorings. And I remember from another post you made that you don't really want the throat hit, that it chokes you. A blend of both PG and VG is best, in most cases. But the main thing is that nicotine juices and vapor are not cigarette smoke, and if there is a juice out there that tastes like real menthol cigs, I haven't tasted it yet either.

If you're a menthol smoker, like me, you probably are craving the coolness of the menthol more than the taste of the tobacco. I believe if you find a menthol juice you find tolerable and you refrain from smoking cigs for a few days, you'll discover that the cigs stink and are harsh. Your taste buds will adapt and your sense of smell will start coming back.

I've tried different juices from different suppliers, and none yet tastes like a real cigarette to me. But my favorite juice right now is a 50/50 blend of two different menthol juices I got from Cignot, one VG and one PG. I definitely get the menthol from it, but it doesn't really taste like tobacco. Just think of it as like switching brands of smokes... it tastes different, and it takes a few days to adapt.

I haven't had a cigarette for 5 days now, and I already can barely stand the smell of a burning cig. I recommend you order small samples, minimum order, from several different suppliers. If you don't like them, no big loss for a $4 bottle, and once you adjust, you might find you do like them later on.

The two flavors that I have problems with is Coconut and Menthol. Once it gets on the atty, every flavor following is the same taste and weak. After the initial few tokes of these flavors, I found that they didn't have much taste. I no longer use them except for maybe adding a small percent of the Coconut to a recipe with 2 or 3 other flavors.

make sure the polyfil is in contact with the atomizer bridge, or it wont wick properly, use new fluval if necessary, i rebuild carts every 4 or 5 cart fulls (it takes a few atempts before you get it just right, i get a consistant flavor and vapor - cart lasts about an hour, just redrip and your good to go!
Amazon.com: Hagen Fluval Polishing Pad-Fine 104/105/204/20 3/pk: Kitchen & Dining

get some good juices , i recommend:
Johnson Creek Tennessee Cured, Original, and Domestic (if you want VG then go with their Red Oak variety as its all VG
Backwoods Brew Applewood Tobacco and Honey Flue Cured, and i believe theirs is a 70/30 VG/PG mix
many other vendors on ECF for juice- read the Eliquid Reviews -- happy vaping!

btw- the juices i listed are tobacco flavors at varrying mg

Ah, yes! If you're not using different attys for different flavors, you'll have that problem, unless you completely wash out the atty and reprime it with a different flavor -- and I'm not sure that would work 100% to get rid of certain flavors, especially menthol.

And I think that's what Sully is doing, using one atty. Hence my post.

I had tried washing soaking with boiling water, soapy water, alcohol and the Menthol taste just would not quit. there was always a hint of it left.

You are trying to "taste" the flavors with your tongue. I had a similar problem when I first started. I thought that grape should be sweet/tasty like eating an actual grape. It took me about 2 weeks to get my NOSE into the game plus my tastebuds back from smoking 3 packs a day. I smoked menthols but could never and still haven't found one the even resembles a menthol cig. Your brain in still trying to trick your senses. Keep vaping. Find a good strong flavor and stay with it for a time then go to something else. You'll find in time that everything tastes better and stronger as long as you stay off analogs.

try looking over at e-cig-reviews and use the "scott" inhale methode aka. his mouth inhale, and use different attys for different flavous.
and for mixing your own juice use 20%vg for vape amount and 80% pg for flavour, at least thats what i find works best to balance the flavour with the vapour amount
mixing is the best way to control flavour but its not the thing to start out with, so just relax and put the analogs away for a week (got my tastebuds back after 2 days of vaping)

been vaping for 3 weeks with a 5 days analog break in the middle as my batteries broke (yes all 5 of them, the charger fried them) and i can tell you the analogs kills your tastebuds BIG time, plus they taste like crap

I ordered the blue foam and a bunch of different "Mint/Menthol" flavors as well as others from Freedom Smoke. I will say I've had better luck with a Green Mint and I also enjoy the flavor of watermelon - all others have been too weak. I'm awaiting my shipment from FS - I asked for extra flavoring. I'm vaping a few times a day - still have analogs. I'm looking for that one flavor that will make me want to stick with it full time so I can quit the analogs for good. Then once I find my go to flavor - I can experiment with others. Yes, I'm looking for that cool - refreshing taste of a menthol - it's been like an after dinner mint all these years of smoking. In fact if they didn't have menthol cigs, I wouldn't be a smoker - that reg. tobacco flavor is nasttty ;)
