Got mine on saturday. And WOW im impressed. loving the vw mode set to rms. vaping at about 5.5 to 7.5 depending on what im using.Still need an Adapter to use the t3's. Vivi tank is smooth an flavorfull. Ordered some 18350's wanting to try stacking and see what all thr hype is about. Vamo hits like a mother. Best setup I've had so far. Wanting to try a rebuldiable probably aga-t 2. Congrats to all who bought a VAMO. I love mine.

Judging by the power you vape at (I vape around the same range), you probably wont notice much difference. Unless you use higher resistance at higher wattage there won't be much difference with stacked vs single batterys.

Take from this what you will but people are far too worried about the whole stacking of batteries issue. I am an electronic engineering technician by trade and I can assure you that there is zero worries using stacked batteries in a device that has protection circuits in place like the vamo. There is an issue if you are using this setup in a mechanical mod that is totally unprotected that is where you need to be concerned with metering batteries and being very careful.

If you install a fully charged battery along with one that is completely depleted what you will get when you fire the vamo is......nothing the display will read "LO" and nothing will happen. One battery will not rapidly discharge into the other and there will not be any sort of heat exchange or any other adverse conditions.

Think of it this way if you take your average run of the mill flashlight which sometimes stack up to 6 D cell batteries do you concern yourself with charge levels and all of the other things that people talk about? The answer is a resounding no and why do you think that is? Because there is a lot of hype about batteries and what not when it comes to PV's and this all stems from mechanical mods where if you have a dead short across your batteries you can cause the catastrophic failures that everyone is worried about. Any mod that has short circuit protection will never have any issue with any battery configuration you throw at it.

Keep in mind that just about every device out there from tv remotes to the toys your kids play with that are stacking batteries. Do you have any concerns when you slap 4 D cells into that new toy little johnny got about metering each one or do you just do it. Stacking batteries is not anything new and there is no need to worry about it what so ever.

As long as the electronics don't see enough voltage to operate, you would be ok. If reverse discharge is given a chance to start with the fire button and the electronics active there could be an issue with mismatched batteries. Yes, mechanical mods are dangerous with one dead and one charged battery. As long as the electronics won't fire under the combined voltage of unequally charged cells, you would be safe. What about a 3.2v and a 4v charge? That's 7.2 volts and could attempt to equalize in reverse discharge if the logic says go. Vamo logic says 6.4v cutoff with dual cells. The low cell could go down into the 2.something range before the logic sensed 6.4v. I'll stick with 18650 single cells to be a little safer.

You are probably right that cutoff will occur before extreme discharge of once cell, but it's not impossible. Laptop cells that first exhibited reverse discharge were multiple cell packs. One weak cell took out the laptop and the kitchen table quite a few times despite the electronics looking for the cutoff point.

White Paper - Low voltage cut-off: a false sense of security

Most consumer devices that stack batteries don't use Li-ion cells. NiCad and NiMh batteries used in most consumer products aren't capable of producing the instantaneous current that Li-ion and IMR can produce.

I'm also a career electronics guy.

Just got mine today Finally! Loving the weight on it. It really is a finger print magnet. What watts would be good for a 2.4ohm vivi nova? Still need to learn the difference between the vw & vv.

Hi Alpha,
First thing is - did you put it in No 2 mode - by holding down one of the small buttons until No 2 shows?

To your question - when you set the watts the Vamo adjusts the volts automatically for you. So you don't need to worry about volts/ohms etc. Just put the 2.4 ohm vivi nova on and start at about 4.5 watts - click up on the watts until it tastes right. That's it. You may find it tates right for you at anywhere from 5 watts upward. That's one of the great things about variable wattage. I use vivi novas with mine a lot, usually the 2.4 and 2.8 ohm heads. The watts depends on the juice and how I like it.

So the difference with the vw is you don't need to work out ohms/volts to know what watts - just set it to the watts that right for you, what people call the sweet spot, and the Vamo automatically adjusts the volts. I've seen some people who don't use vw try to complicate things for vw users, but its not complicated at all. Enjoy.

Finally got mine earlier this week. Coming from Twists and Spinners, this thing has some heft to it! Not a bad thing, just something I gotta get used to. I have some 18350's if I want to try the shorter mode, just haven't gotten around to it. I've been rocking an AGR carto tank on it, some Vivi Nova's, T3's, eVod's, whatever.. It all hits great and I'm digging the VW mode big time. I've been using the base from the AGR tank + a 510 to ego adapter for my T3's to avoid too much wear and tear on the Vamo's native 510 connection.
