Cost.

If you want to save on eliquids, do a bit of DIY do-it-yourself.
The bulk of eliquid is glycerin (VG) and propylene glycol (PG)
You can make you own base liquid with VG and PG, and add just a little of the eliquid that you buy, and save money that way.

Or if you can afford it look for the fancy stuff like bobas bounty and suicide bunny.

eliquid costs are going to drop by anywhere from half to 10x over the next few years as more people make the transition

i feel like i could afford it maybe not the fancy stuff all the time but still. and health wise is there any reason i shouldnt vape without the nicotine purely for the taste? it cant be harmful right?

ive herd bobas bounty come up alot i really need to try it!

yea i see bobas bounty

i was never the heaviest of smokers but i couldnt kick my 5-10 smokes a day even after giving it my all. the problem is theyres so many flavours and mixes out there that i feel like even if i kicked my nicotine craving id still want to order the no nicotine juices for the taste! is there a significant reason i shouldnt go down that route?

im gonna order around 10 clearomisers with the juices so hopefully that will last me a while.

Many do exactly that. After switching to vaping, slowly lower the nicotine content until they reach zero. Then vape for flavor. You would have a lot of company.

Actually, depending on the clearomizer, the main thing you need spares for are the "coils". I wouldn't order a ton of clearomizers right away. There are so many different parts and pieces out there, you kind of need to get more familiar with which part is which before doing too much "stocking up". I spent way more than I needed to when I started because I bought a lot of stuff I thought I would need but I was wrong. :)

ohhhh, that looks like an eGo -c type cartrige.
the atomizer is supposed to last a longish time but can be hard to find replacements.

They are still out there but I always heard they were prone to leaks. Still, the battery is eGo threaded so it'll fit any number of cartos and clearos...

That's what I want to do as well I'm on 14mg now im hoping to bring that down to 6.

Ive heard about the clearomisers with replaceable atomiser heads should I go for them? If I do buy a couple of clearomisers how often do people replace them? The cartridges can get quite annoying cuz u have to change them quite often and the liquid does leak so a clearomiser would be a better option I'd want one with the capacity to hold a decent amount of liquid as well as one that would last a while any suggestions?

If you can get ahold of a couple miniprotank2v2 or the glass evod tanks they both use the industry standard bottom coil, easy to rewick; can also be recoiled

You definitely want to find ones with replaceable coil heads. The coils (atomizer, whatever... terms are little muddled sometimes) heat up and cool off repeatedly so they're going to wear. When I was on an eGo, I used two kinds:

Vision 2.0

And...

Kanger EVOD

I came to prefer the EVODs over the Visions.

Visions are pretty simple and come apart like so:

VS-EV2-6.jpg

And the little widget with the wick is the actual coil head. Which can be bought separately. And fairly cheaply.

MVS doesn't have as good a photo of the EVODs (and I'm using MVS just because I have them bookmarked, I buy regularly from them) but it's like so:

KREV-2.jpg

The short, stubby, silvery thing to the left is the coil head. Also can be bought separately and fairly cheaply. At MVS, coils run about $3 each.

Anyway, the idea is that the coil heads can be replaced instead of having to buy a whole new clearomizer. And far as leaks, I rarely had a problem out of EVODs or Visions.

yea im leaning towards the evod glass ones im assuming the place where the liquid goes is relatively easy to clean? and how long would the coils last?

also im gonna go for mt baker for my e juice and i know taste is subjective but if you had to pick 10 or 15 of their juices that gave u that " this tastes exactly like advertised" feeling what would they be? i know u said all their products are like that but if you had to pick their 15 most reliable?

and lastly ive heard that mt baker makes their juice fresh so youre required to steep them? i just found out what that was yesterday but im still confused as to what the full method is. do i keep the cap on and just store them in a drawer? or should i take the cap off at some point?

Yes tanks are easy to clean when your ready take the base off and i just rinse it out with hot water, let it dry, replace the coil(if needed), fill and go. Coils usually last me 5-9 days depending on how much use it goes through.
My Favorite MBV Juices are the GWAR Line,Faux Hawk,Hawk Sauce,Freckled Lemonade,Solar Flare,Whiteout and Lightning.
and how i steep is when i receive them i take the lids and the tip off for 45 min to an hour and then i recap them and give them a good shake.
then i repeat the process once more and then put them in a cool dark place for 1-2 days. Then i taste them and usually their good to go, if they need more time i repeat the whole process while tasting in-between. Hope that helps

I can't say for sure how long they lasted as I didn't pay attention. Cleaning everything fairly regularly, they went for a while. Was not something I had to change every week. But I didn't track it. I bought them in packs of five then ordered when I was running low. Didn't go through them terribly fast. My "budget" was always less than smoking. MUCH less.

(I don't know how it is for you but, here, cigarettes have become expensive!)

I never bothered with steeping. Still don't with my own mixes. It's a very subjective thing. My rule was if I didn't like something, I put it in the cabinet and tried it again later. No exact time, just when I. Thought about it.

And flavors are so subjective... I dunno. My tastes seem to be rather basic. I like a lot of simple flavors (which may be why I get away without bothering with steeping). Like fruit flavors. I like blueberry. Banana. Basic stuff. MBV does have a "blue ice" that's a blueberry menthol. I would not have thought that would work but I like it. :) I also do a lot of "mint" kinds. Wintergreen, spearmint, creme de menthe. Not sure how much help I'm being here. But to start, on a budget, you may want to get some basic flavors. Like fruit flavors you might like. I find the more "complicated" a flavor is, the more likely it is you won't care for it. Complex flavors are hard to make. I've tried. :)

Oh, yeah, the glass option is a good one. But more because some juices are corrosive to plastic. Glass is more durable in that respect. Cleaning EVODs or Vision 2.0 clearomizers is easy, glass or not. I just rinsed mine out and soaked the coil heads overnight then set them out to air dry. Nothing complicated.

And, yeah, EVODs are nice vapes.

with repeating the whole process do u take the lid and tip off again aswell or do you just keep them on but continue keeping them in a cool dark place?

lol cigarettes here cost about less than two dollars for a box and you can also get as many individual smokes as u want which cost like 20 cents if converted to dollars!

im leaning towards getting mostly fruit flavours and dessert flavors so ill look for the most basic flavours. have u tried their build your own juice section? im thinking about giving it a go but i have a feeling ill get flavours that dont go too well together.

does soaking the coil heads remove the gunk that apparently clogs the coil too? that sounds very simple i cant wait to get the evod with all the flavours aswell its gonna be a glorious day when it all gets here! might have to wait around 3 weeks for it all to get here though.

Yeah, soaking does a lot of that. Some use vodka even. That's supposed to work well but I just soaked overnight in water.

By the way, YouTube has a lot of videos on taking care of clearomizers of whatever kind. Helps to see somebody show you how it's done. Not that it's complicated. EVODs (and Vision 2.0s) are easy. You'll pick it up fast.

I never did "build your own" at MBV. I went straight to mixing my own. :)

I would say stick to "basics" at first. Especially with shipping. You said around three weeks? Yeah that's a long time to wait to find you hate the taste! The fruit flavors are kind of like candy fruit flavors. In fact, are made with candy flavorings. So if you like a candy fruit of some kind, it might make for a good vape.

And 20 cents? That'd be around $4 for our "pack" (20 cigs). Yeah that's about what it used to cost me before they started taxing like crazy (to push people to quit right?). It's around $7 now. Worse in some other states. New York, I hear it's over $10 now. Yikes!

You know, there have to be vendors closer to you. At least EU or UK (this forum is based in the UK actually). The hardware is almost all Chinese (for that matter, they invented vaping). I know China makes juices but can't say I've found any I like. Still, we aren't the only game in town. The UK, I know, has a thriving vape industry.

Ask around. There must be vendors closer than us over here.

when i used to live in ireland it used to be around $14 which is ridiculous id mostly just get the amber leaf rolling tobacco which was cheaper.

can you recommend any dessert flavours that you really like? i like the sound of all the fruit flavours that have a sour tinge to them especially the pure fruit candy ones.

also assuming i can keep replacing the coil head is there any limit to how long i can use a single evod glass clearomiser?

and i wouldnt mind going for a vendor closer to me but with it being my first order aswell id want a vendor with a solid name in the vaping community and most of them seem to come from the US of A!
