Hi everyone,

just started vaping a week now and got the DSC-901 which was brilliant for a week. Now my Atomizer had quit and I tried the cleaning tips and still no joy, so I've ordered another, plus one off my batts has when wonky, lights up intermittently when taking a drag and end up with a mouth full off eliquid, so over all not a very good end to my week.
I was really pleased with the 901 but the vap was a bit slack but when I got the coconut high and xhigh Marlborough e-liquid I was well impressed but hoped I would get longer out off the Atomizer.

What I really want to know and I'm sure this has been asked many times and I have read so much and taken in so much it just doesn’t make my choice any easier.

What is the best?

I will tell you the sort off thing I want and maybe some tips would be great.

First off I was a pretty heavy smoker with around 50-60 a day and was looking for something that has good battery life as I found I had to change the battery on the 901 4 times a day. Not sure if this is normal and I seemed to be constantly filling the cart every few minutes when I was sitting idle.

Would love something that used the cartomizer and they seem to be the sort off thing I would need and I would not need to drip as often. I am actually going to get a small spring today and try one off the mods although not sure how it work but going to give it a go and see if there’s any difference.

I was looking at the Janty stick, Silver Bullet and some reviews and wondering about the difference from the 901 or the some off the other e-cigs like the 510 and 084 but research seems to show that the 901 is the better apart from the Janty and the Silver Bullet. I also came across one called the E-Stick and wondered if anyone has tried this?
I don’t care about the price as you can’t put a price on your health but as long as it’s going to be a good product and not have to keep spending money on parts every week.
Just one off the problem is a lot off the good cigs seem to be absent in the UK but I'm willing to order in the USA if need be.

Really appreciate all your help guys:)

Thank you

I recommend going with something with a manual battery.

If you are a 2pack a day smoker, my guess is you "suck those things down like coca-cola" -quote from Kramer of Sienfeld

This is the problem I have with automatic batteries.
You mentioned that the battery goes a lil flaky and you end up with a mouthful of juice (absolutely nasty tasting and f's up my tongue when this happens) ie you are sucking hard -as you are used to this with your regular smoking and the battery isnt doing its job and you are sucking juice into your mouth.

Vaping an ecig is different that smoking a traditional cigarette as you really dont want or need to suck so hard to get your smoke/vapor. This is why a manual battery is so much better.

Manual batteries allow you to suck as easily as you like. Slow- controlled -inhaling is where its at. It allows you to get the most vapor and flavor. Fast-hard-inahles will not get you near the vapor you would like and will more than likely get you a mouthful of juice.

So remember - slow-controlled-inhaling.

510's come with manaul battery option and is one of the most popular models out there.

Good luck with whatever you chose and I hope I helped you a little.

I went through a 901 period (I have 6) and was very happy while they worked well, but they would gum up after a week or so, and I had to recharge about 10 times a day so I got 4 or 5 PCCs so I could stay in-front.
After getting a big battery mod, I was able to give them a dry burn which brought them back to life, but had moved on to other models.
My DPV9 (KR808D-1) with two batts and one PCC replaced all my 901's whilst at work. (I can still use the 901 PCC's with it too if nec.) The battery life and performance was a big relief.
Everyone seems happy with their Silver Bullets and you would be safe to go that way.

I got an Indulgence from Eastmall so I could use all my other collected e-cig stuff and so I could go HV and I use that when I am at home.

I still toke on my 510's every now and then and have had a really good run out of them, and are a solid performer, but the battery life sucks.

I would defiantly recommend getting a big battery mod, or if you prefer to stay small and portable... the cartos are great. If I had to choose just one model I would go with the cartomizers, as they are quick, easy and long lasting compared to other 'cig-styles'.

The manual batteries are defiantly better if you don't mind having to push the button, but for me as I use both my hands for work, I need an auto.

What is good for one may not be good for another though, so just way up the importance of the differences:

Battery life........................ (1.mod,> 2. cartomizers/801,> 3. 901/510 etc)
Time between top-ups......... (1.Cartomizers-> 2. 801 ->3. 901/510 etc mod=what type of atty)
Vapor production/ throat hit... (1.mod/510-> 2.Cartomizers-> 3. 901, others)
Portability/Public perception.....(1. 510/901/carto etc,> 2.801,> 3 mod)
Flavor................................. (1. 901/cartos,> 2. 510 > 3. 801) mod= atty
Manual/auto.........................(1..?> 2....?) you choose.
thats sort of how I rated them when choosing, I dunno if it helps or just help to confuse.

I have a Janty Stick too, and it is a great all round device, but master of none. It is small and portable, fair battery life, good vapor, poor flavor (801 atty) and I use it as my back-up device. It just looks a bit weird in public.

You may also want to look at the Janty eGo. I was a heavy smoker too and it has worked wonderfully for me. Even at my worst, I only have to change batteries once a day. Great throat hit and vapor production.

Have to agree with Ragman though. Manual batteries and inhaling slowly are the way to go whatever model you use.

I took a look at the Janty eGo and looks good, does this model take cartomizers as well?
Its hard to tell as everyone seems to just advertise as prefilled cartridges. I'm not worried about size or if I need 20 fingers to work:) it as long as I get good battery life, good vap kick and the Atomizers dont need changed every week, come to think of it, I dont even care if its the size of a house as long as it stops me smoking traditional cigs:)

All in all, I'm now thinking about 2 choices:

Janty eGo
Silver Bullet

Not to sure who does the Silver Bullet in the UK although as stated if I have to order in the States so be it. I what to be able to order spare with it so it will not let me down for a while. The input I'm getting is fantastic, you guys rock!!!!!!

Yes, you can definitely use cartomizers on an eGo.

I have an eGo/Tornado and got an adapter to from 510 threads to 808 cartos.
With the cartomizer on there it winds up being a little bit shorter than it normally is, which can feel a little weird because the tip winds up being closer to the end of the cone, but it still vapes great.

Personally I wound up going back to the regular 510 carts, because I felt I liked the draw on them better than the cartos... but that's obviously subjective.

510 to 808 adapters are available at a lot of different vendors.
Not sure which ones there are in your neck of the woods - but you should be able to find one without too much trouble.

You won't regret the eGo (I hope). To me it seems to be the perfect balance between size and function. Still small enough to feel comfortable, but without sacrificing the battery life. I'm a pretty constant vaper, and I have only had to switch out the battery once a day at the most (and usually it's because I'm leaving the house at night or something like that, and I don't want to take the chance that the battery will die on me, so I'll put a fresh one on).

I believe there are adapters available for almost anything to almost anything, so I feel safe in saying yes you can get a cartomizer adapter for that!

I was looking on the Janty site and it looks as though they are cartridges that come with it, problem for me is getting a site in the uk for adaptors, dont want to have to order from the States everytime I need an adapter, or if one breaks I have to wait for maybe a week until it arrives.

Is there anything like the Janty which takes Cartonizers or is there a site UK or USA I can buy the Janty eGo and adapter from in the same order without having to order off 2 separate sites?
This would save me a lot off hassle or even if I was getting long enough from the Janty eGo cartridges would be good instead off filling them every 10 minutes, back to being really confused on what to go for now:)

Not that this helps much - but I seriously doubt you'll have to worry about an adapter breaking, or needing to get a new one. When I got mine, I ordered 4 of them just because I was paying for shipping anyhow... once I screwed one on I realized I probably could have just bought one and been fine. the adapter is nothing more than a small ring with threads on each side to fit the cartomizer onto the 510 threads... so there isn't really anything that will break or fail on it.

Hi Conman. I switched to Cartos recently and love them. The supplier I use, Health Cabin just released Cartomizers that screw directly onto a 510 with a soft tip like a cigarette. I use Cartos currently with an adapter but I've just ordered some of these to give them a try. In other words there are a heap of options for cartos for a 510 base!!

 Sorry to bring this up, Silverthorn, but the threads I've seen so far about these are fairly negative. I've read that they don't hold nearly as much liquid as a KR8 carto, and the paper on the outside seems to fall apart fairly quickly, so they won't last as long as KR8 cartos, either. I was very interested in these, too. I hope you'll let us know how they work for you after you've tried them.

I feared as much!! Stands to reason if you're going to put squishy stuff around the outside it has to take up room!! I don't ever see myself using them on a regular basis as I'm very happy with the standard cartos but you know how it is you've just gotta try everything once!! :p
