I've been reading this forum for the past few weeks to get informed on making the switch from analogs to a PV. I was a little unsure, despite the good things I've heard from people who made the switch last winter, so I scoured my area and found a tobacco shop selling disposables. They even had a demo one (complete with little mouth-piece condoms to keep it sanitary.)

I walked out with a disposable. I enjoyed it enough that I promptly ordered up a starter kit from one of the vendors that got good reviews (litecigusa). I only hope this Ruyan lasts until my order arrives. I don't want to go back to analogs in the meantime.

I've tried to quit smoking numerous times in the past. I've failed every time. The main reason I want to kick analogs is the damage they've done and continue to do to my lungs. I'm a very active person, more fit than many of my non-smoking friends, but I know I can be better should I kick the analogs.

Like you I also tried to quit numerous times and failed each time, but with the help of the ecig I haven't smoked in 5 months and don't miss it

I wasn't trying to quit because I really like smoking but my son came over with an Npro and wanted me to use it, I thought it was a funny gadget at the time

Long story short I now have 801, 901, 510, and kr808d-1 and love each one of them for different uses and times

good luck

I've been smoke free for one day. I've been asked by a few smokers at work about my Ruyan. I get urges to go out and light up an analog, but I just take some puffs on the Ruyan and it goes away.

I think the rituals are what I'm missing most. I've caught myself digging around for a lighter a few times in the past 24 hours. I still go out on my porch, as was my at home smoking ritual, on occassion to use my PV.

I just can't wait for my order from litecig to get here! This one's okay and all, but I ordered a few different e-juices and I can't wait to try them out. I hope it gets here tomorrow, I have no patience.

Oh, I can relate! 2 packs/day for 40 years... uughh! Been analog free now since 9/28/09 so I'm relatively new to vaping. I could never quit before either. Vaping keeps me happy and gives me something to do with my hands/mouth. Almost tried lighting my 801 several times in the beginning. I had a habit of holding a cig. lighter in my hand all the time... and that included everyone else's lighters too! Now I hold my 801 instead. So many flavors to try out!

Hi there. I'm a n00b here too. Well, I've been lurking here for a while. I mostly browse on my phone so posting is a little tedious. I have been analog free for over a month now and finally threw out my last pack of cigarettes a couple days ago. I understand what you mean about rituals though. I like going outside and vaping like I did when I smoked cigarettes. Now that the weather here is turning colder I'm thankful that I won't need to bundle up and brave the winter when I don't want to. And I'm the type that always lost my lighter so I'm glad I don't need those anymore either. :)

I can't vape at my desk either, so my NEW ritual is to pretend I'm in high school again and vape in the bathroom. So far no one has noticed anything out of the ordinary, and I have a much shorter walk.

I was thinking about doing that too. Vape in the bathroom stall. Vape in some hidden corner on the floor. Vape under my desk... =)

I just started yesterday too. I'm still going outside to stand by the smokers' area, even though I don't have an analog in hand. I wish I could vape at my desk...

Try the bathroom. If you're worried about the vapor exhale into shirt/blouse. I do this at airports that tell me I have to go use the smoking section---they could careless that I'm then breathing in the SHS.

You can also just hold it in for a little bit. Anything is better if it's bad outside.

Great idea for stealth vaping! =)

I hear ya'. Although I've noticed that vaping once in an 8 hour shift is holding me over... that's something that never would have happened with analogs.

Speaking of rituals and habits, mine was keeping my analog dangling in my mouth. My poor m401 has had some nasty falls because of this. :D

I'm finding myself holding my m402 very often while sitting at my desk at home. Sometimes I catch myself just randomly twirling it around in my fingers. I never did that with an analog.

I'm still too paranoid to try stealth vaping in the bathrooms. Strangely enough, I've found my cravings have subsided in just the past few days. Although when I'm at hope I'm damn near chain vaping.

I just tried this, here in the safety of my house... and I'll be damned if it doesn't work perfectly. :)

I may switch to vaping outside regardless of the lack of lingering smoke/odor. My boyfriend is cutting back on the analogs and intends to quit, cold turkey, sometime this winter. He doesn't want to switch to a PV, he just wants to be done with it. I don't think he'd want to be exposed to anything that even resembles smoking.

So far so good. Fifth day, I need to wash my favorite cold weather hoody, since I'm sure it still smells like smoke, but one co-worker actually smelled the baby powder that I dust myself with daily instead of the tobacco smoke the other day... it was only then that I realized how stinky cigarettes truly are.

Once I hit the two week smoke free line, I'll have been as successful at quitting with a PV as I ever was with Zyban and other methods. :)
