Hi Guys,

I've just got my first e-cig, and i love it. 48hrs and counting on the digitals....but here's the problem;

It's just far too harsh for me!

I've bought a kit with 5 carts, all with '18mg' written on the side, and i'm sure its 'RK4'.

I've also bought a menthol PG liquid which is 18mg (1.8% high), and a VG liquid which is 11mg and is again the RK4 (1.1% medium).

I used to smoke a mild roll up (light tobacco) with menthol filters, and the menthol was quite strong (which i like).

So the question is, can any of you guys recommend a light flavour mix, with a strong menthol taste? At the moment i'm finding it hard to inhale the 18mg carts, so i definitely need a lower nicotine level, but i also find the 'Vapour Elixer' menthol a bit mild and not minty enough.

I'm also in the UK btw :)

Thanks in advance.

hi Pabs,

Part of the harshness may be the pg, th is from nic but pg adds to it, while vg helps mute it.

As far as a good menthol, most menthol smokers wind up diy'ing their menthol as they can't seem to find a premixed that is the same. If you read juice reviews, you will find a lot of the good reviews on menthol juice is from people who didn't like menthol cigs. Nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't give a menthol smoker a very good idea of how it compares to what they are use to.

Welcome , and as said , the PG tends to taste a bit harsh . Try getting some lower nic. juice in a 50/50 mix and see if that works for you . If you like the Ry4 , or whatever , order that and a bottle of menthol flavoring . You can then add a few drops of menthol , until you get the desired strength . Good Luck

I'm sure there are other sources, but I got a bottle of 'Menthol (Strong)' from Backwoods Brew and add some to the juice I want to spice up when I need that menthol hit. You have the option of various menthol strength levels, which I like. If you order a bottle of menthol (from wherever you prefer) in VG with a lower nic level than your juices, you can lower the nic and harshness, plus get the menthol you crave.

thanks for all the replies, but specifically to Nancy....how do i get the balance with a VG/PG? Should i get a low VG and a high PG? Or should i just go for a high menthol?

I'm new to this so i'm still very confused....just looking for a lesser throat hit, and a more menthol flavour.

Thanks again to everyone :)

A lot of juice vendors have different pg/vg ratios, such as Vape Dudes (there are lots out there so you won't be limited), I would start with a 50/50 mix then adjust from there, or not sure if your cartos you have are prefilled or if you are filling them, but you could also get some straight vg from walmart and mix into some of what you have to see if it helps, but mixing it like that will lower the nic and the flavor.

As far as the menthol I would really suggest getting a bottle of the menthol drops. many juice vendors also carry that, then you can add as much or as little as you want. Always start low tho with the drops, as they can be very strong, and you can add more if you need to but you can't take it out once added.

Thanks Chrissie, not being in the UK not sure what all you have over there, so can only speak from what I know I can find.

Nancy, I'm the same - but the other way round :D Find it difficult helping USA members as I've never bought from any USA suppliers :)
