I agree that topping them off regularly would defeat the purpose for me. That said, for the past week I have been happy with the 510 cartos as the only solution so far that can fill at night and vape the whole way to work and back without running out of juice. I have just had no luck with any of the filler mods. Most of the rest of the day I'm still dripping on a regular atty.

I don't understand all the fuss about cartomizer stuffing material burning??? These are designed to be DISPOSABLE after ONE use??? Yet you are able to reuse most of them multiple times.

Too bad many KR8 cartos had those burn marks after their very first use, without ever having been refilled. I doubt that's going to be different with the 510 cartos.

And no need to shout, either.

.....Its really NO different than the disposable 510 unit batteries that are designed to be charged three times, but for the most part you can get more charges out of them. Anyone complaining about that?

Why on earth would someone complain about getting more life from a battery? Why would you even bother using that as a comparison to something BURNING and releasing TOXIC FUMES???

(sorry AlexTM, don't mean to shout... :p)

Now, IF the cartomizers stated they were designed to be used multiple times with no burning of material, MAYBE that would open it up for debate. Until then use them as long as you can and then TOSS them!! Don't forget the PLUS side to cartomizers of not having to top off AS often and the less of a hassle they are to use.

Have you not been paying attention to what has been said? You can use them ONCE and they will/can have the same result. At least with the KR8'S. It sounds as if the 510's are doing the same. Do I forget the plus side to cartos? Heck no. I started with them and would love to stay with them BUT I am not willing to inhale the fumes from the synthetic fibers. If these can be made safer for a few pennies more, why aren't they?

I just broke down the 2 I was using at 3.7 volts. I have used these 2 for 5 days and been pretty happy with them. Got new juice today, so thought it was a good time to change em out. Both have burned polyfil and what looks like the insulating sleeve is burned away.

Maybe I am using them wrong? I fill them and wait a bit then use. Should I fill them and let them sit for a few hours before use or something? Mine are not overly burned, just looks like the insulator is burned off and some of the polyfil.

I really like the way the work, but this does concern me. Back to my 510 atty's I guess and just use these for trips and such when I cant refill cartridges at will. Dripping and driving is sooo dangerous. Dripping and motorcycling is even worse. Course I do niether!

All I was saying is that they are disposable. Now that you know they burn material don't use them if that concerns you. For no more than these cost I don't see the big deal. But that's my Opinion, everybody has one. I have some of the 510 cartomizers and right now like them better than the KR8's. I also bought an Expert 510 atty from Shawn and like it as well. I also think people expect to much out of certain things. Vaping products have improved and I am sure it will get better. Don't give up hope I am sure something better will come along in the near future.

Let the flaming begin,Again!!

I swear. Just don't use the bloody things if you don't like them.
I like them and I've never seen the ones I've ripped open after days of use look like the ones in those photos.
Much ado about nothing.
By the way I'm still waiting for my lost shipment of 510 cartos
Perhaps they self destructed?

After a week of use, two of the three that I have been using daily seem to be getting "weak." Less throat hit and vapor. Anyone else notice this? They still crackle, so it seems like the heating part is still good. I've been using three different juices, so it's hard to tell if it's actually the carto or the juice that is seeming blah to me.

I typically get a week out of a cartomizer, regardless of the type, at high voltage.. might just be time to pitch it and pop on another. They are disposable you know, hehe.. :)

Just tore down my second carto I had been using for ~3-4 days. Same results as my earlier picture, unfortunately.

I also made sure to keep it moist at all times, too. Doesn't seem to have helped.

Oh well. I guess we just need to look at these as a fill once, maybe twice, piece of equipment, then toss. After all, that's what they're supposed to be. :p Heck at $2/carto, even using one for a day, then tossing it is still cheaper than analogs!

That being said, mine are more "scorched" than flat-out burned through. I'm wondering if it's getting hot enough to discolor it, but not really burn it. I'd be willing to guess that, even though these are scorching, they're probably producing hardly any particulates from the polyfill. IMO, not a whole lot to be worried about, especially when you considered all the tar and crap you used to get from analogs... these are probably still orders of magnitude less bad for you.

Do you think there would be any scorching or burning if it was only used once? Fill, vape, finish, toss.

I vape a lot more casually than most, so even using a carto just once and then tossing would still last me a week (though maybe not if I actually find a juice I like). If they don't burn at all from a single use, I'd definitely be more inclined to trying them out.

Do they produce more vapor than the 808 cartos? I've tried those and the vapor is pathetic. TONS of flavor though.

There have been reports of the 808 cartos being scorched after just one use. There's a thread about it around here somewhere that has hundreds of replies. It wouldn't surprise me if these were the same.

But, like I said, they are slightly scorched, not burned-out, charred, and melted (at least mine weren't...). I wouldn't worry too much about it. To be honest, I think there is quite a bit of paranoia going around about how bad inhaling the burned stuff (assuming it's even producing any smoke/vapor at all) really is. I'm not going to let it stop me from using them...

But that's just my 2 cents.

As for the vapor... they're decent. Not as much as the Joye attys produce, but it's a decent amount.

I haven't tried these out yet, but plan on getting some soon. By the looks of the burnt material in the picture, it looks like they are using a small "silica blanket" to cover the heating coil. The same stuff used as the wick in atomizers. After rebuilding a few of my 510 atties I have found that any part of the silica actually touching the heating coil will get scorched, no matter how soaked with liquid it is. Same case with this little blanket on these cartomizers. Now the polyfill on the other hand...definitely not good.
