I don't have the answer to why your K100 hits better, AdammBone, just a few possibilities:
Mine outperforms my Pegasus (copper) and Caravela (copper) clones and displays two major and distinct quality differences. Its materials, all components, seem of higher quality throughout. Its machining and finishing appear to have been fitted and polished to tighter tolerances.
When first assembled and used it fit together without roughness or need to force through burrs or metal filings left behind in the machining process. The button was smooth in operation, and remains so after a month or so of heavy usage.
It may be that these qualities add up to an impression of hard-hitting in the same way that a smooth operating fishing reel makes you feel like a better fisherman. I'm also aware that a fondness for the sculptural architecture of the K100 could also lead to an appreciation of its operation that exceeds the facts. I like the way it looks, therefor I like the way it works. You are the only one who could agree or dispute that.
