Got a K100 a couple of weeks ago (not from fasttech). Yeah, I know it's a cheap piece of .... but I wanted to see if telescoping was something I liked. Anyways, the unlocking ring on the bottom is stuck in the locked position. 1. Has this happened to anyone else? (Just make me feel better about it). 2. Has anyone managed to unstick it with breaking it? Actually, I liked it while it worked, but if it's a loss, then I will live it, they are cheap enough.
Thanks. :)

This might be a dumb question but, you do know the lock ring has left handed threads right? As in, CCW to unlock. Sorry if you already new this.

It had been locked and unlocked on many occasions prior to this. It also has directions printed on it (which way is lock and unlock). And this is the second time it's stuck. My husband cannot even get it unstuck with his bare hands. I am apprehensive to use pliers or something like that because of it's cheap make.

try going from hair dryer to freezer. Ive had the same problem with alu lock rings on different mods. Alu expands and contracts at a very high rate between hot and could. Keep at it and eventuality you will work it lose. DO NOT use pliers you will most likely spoil the threads. Hot give it a try cold give it a try repeat patience and persistence and it will come lose.

Or I could just try it one more time before I try the other stuff, and it will magically be fixed. Well, at least I have suggestions for the next time it happens.

good for you glad its better if you dont have nolax to lubricate the threads a little chap stick is a great thread lubricant. I prefer to use cherry ;-)
