I recently got the k100.I noticed something weird when charging the 18650 battery.well close to the end of the charge the lights on the battery charger went from red to an orange color before eventually turning green what does the orange light mean since I didn't get a user's manual with the kit thanks kamry! also I'd like to ask if anyone can explain this to me in layman's terms what is a good battery of the 18 650 size I've heard there are ones out there that give you a better throat hits and deliver a bit more power but I want a safe battery since I don't know what I'm doing yet.

Well regarded batteries are Panasonic's , AW.
Good charger (reasonable) Nitecore intellicharger.

That being said,

You need protection. What are you planning for the protection of the device and the battery?
Never stack 2 batteries. What type of delivery system do you plan to user?
From the sound of your description , you have a cheap battery and charger. I would consider you don't use them.

The drawbacks to mechanicals are the fact that it has no electronics, etc. That means no battery indicator, so you have to learn based on your vaping experience when the battery is spent. There is nothing in a mechanical that will prevent you from draining the battery to an unsafe level causing a battery vent or battery explosion. It also means that there is nothing that will stop you from firing a shorted coil, causing a battery vent/explosion. There is no electronic safety built into it whatsoever. You can purchase a Kick or some other system (such as the Crown, of the new kick clone) that will give you the safety features of an electronic system.
Cheers
