Hey guys,

I come once again digging for knowledge. I have a Russian 91% V2 that works great. It works so great, that I want another one. But I can't afford either the Russian or the actual Kaifun. Controversy aside, which clones would you guys recommend for a low price? I know they're all over fasttech, but I have no clue which ones are legit and have a working center-pin (which seems to be the issue with some of the clones). Thanks for any help.

Not sure about fasttech's as I haven't purchased any of these from them, that and they use different manufacturers for different models, so in that respect it is somewhat of a toss-up. Some batches come out great, some have issues. That is fasttech all around though.

I did purchase a Kayfun Lite Plus v2 by hCigar and have nor complaints about it. Works well and I like it; its my go to at the moment. I have heard good things about ehpro, think they have a new model with dual AFC. Worth taking a look at.

I've had a few clones and authentics.
Quality wise the top two; in my opinion, would be hcigar and ehpro. Some would say just get a kaufun clone from fast-tech and while they will all vape the same, I've seen some of the FT clones rust after only a few weeks, I've had an ehpro for almost 6 months now and it still vapes and looks just like my authentic.t ehproV2 side by side wig the authentic is indistinguishable other then the date on the engraving.
Another option that I also like is my Artemis black from http://www.custommodcreation.com. It's a clone but an improved clone with a very high build quality on par with ehpro and hcigar. They have an easier fill hole and better airflow control. Also since they are limited runs the quality control is great.
Any of the 3 clones I mentioned are, IMHO, as good as the authentic, with the exception of the authentic having much better qc, and the threading is much much better on the authentic. However, the threading on my clones is pretty nice, it's hard to notice. Also/ don't forget with clones to give them a good thorough cleaning before use.

I love the Aqua, Taifun, Fogger, et al, but it is REALLY hard to beat the Kayfun 3.1 from 101vape for $16. I have this one and its been nothing but great. It's better than the KFL+ in my opinion. I do remove the airflow screws. Only had one leak and it was my fault. When filled and wicked right, no leaking, great draw, large capacity, and smooth as silk.

My ephro works, but with clones you never know when a bad batch is circulating. Its a gamble. Being a gamble sometime you want to be a small amount like these which have had a good rep:$21.54 SvoeMesto Kayfun v3.1 ES Styled Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5mL) - stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

This is a good clone as long as you replace all of the screws on it including the afc grub screw , I have one and while the fit and finish are nowhere's near my Hcigar 3.1 the vape is the same , it works and it doesn't leak and no rust as long as you replace the crap screws with stainless steel .

Have you had any other issues with rust on your KF3.1 from 101Vape? I just took mine apart after about a week of use and while cleaning it found TONS of rust in the chimney

Just sucks because the afc didn't work on it either. Base and screw had totally different thread patterns, not that big of deal but now the rust starting to regret not going with hcigar

Are you sure it's rust and not dried and stained from juice?
I've had that issue on both my clones (ehpro) and authentic. A qtip dipped in vinegar and water will take that right off.

The atty I was referring to is from Fasttech , the screws were zinc , a situation they've supposedly corrected by now , I had rust from the screws but since I replaced them I have had zero issues with it and I've had it about 8 months now , I replace all the screws on my atty's now with a cheesehead screw and hexnut combination , it makes building easier .

Pretty sure it is rust, the juice I have used in it is yellow

This is the afc screw that came in it and does not fit at all

I have been wanting to get some new screws for all my rda/rba gear just have not found them for a decent price yet. I have the cheap kfl from fasttech and I have not had any problems with it so far. been using it for about 2 weeks and no signs of rust anywhere

    Which clone is that?
Most of my juices are all light in color; but, after a while they'll still get dark and as the coil gunks leave a residue on the inside of the chimney.
However; that does look like rust to me.
I would check on kidneypuncher, vaperev, fatdaddy or eBay for a replacement chimney, and screws or just pitch it and/or get a new clone.

That is from the kf 3.1 on 101vape. picture doesn't really show the clear difference of the rust and the juice but its pretty nasty. threw a pmma chimney on it but feel like I should just toss this pos  took apart the chamber in the base of it and looks like there is rust starting on the outside of the internal air inlet

When I got the 101vape kf in the mail I thought it was going to be an awesome atty. Came in a nice package with a user manual compared to fasttech kayfun lite that comes in a generic black box with nothing else. the only issue with the fasttech one was that the juice channels were not exactly even, they still worked great but even better now that I took the dremel to it.

Not sure who makes it; they sell ehpro, which I've bought 5 of them so far and haven't had any issues at all with any ehpro product. They so sell a less expensive clone; I don't know who makes that one.
But takin a dremmel to is it could cause it to rust. Not sure what material they use; but if they use the finish to stop rust and you break through the finish, it'll corrode or oxidize.
If you're looking to get a better quality clone, ehpro, hcigar and Artemis seam to be the generally accepted top of the food chain as far as a quality clone goes. I have one of each and cannot think of a bad thing to say about any of those. My personal favs are the ehpro v2 and Artemis black edition v3. Both seem to have better airflow, deeper channels and easier to use fill ports.

Sorry to see you having issues with it. We've all been there; my first rba was a patriot driller clone. The first time a set it up the positive post snapped off when I was tightening the coil.

That's when I learned that it pays to research even a clone before buying. Now I stick with those three companies and buy authentic. The authentic don't leave the house but the clones are with me everywhere. I don't have the money to lose or break a hundred dollar atty. hell July 4th I lost one of my ehpro V2s and a caravela with a vtc5 battery. I was ......! When I sobered up I was glad I left the provari and authentic kflv2 at home.

Thank you all for the valuable suggestions. Have this page bookmarked for when I come across money soon. I was browsing some of the suggestions you guys offered and kept seeing "nano kayfun kit". What exactly is this if any of you guys have experience with it? I'd assume it's just a smaller chimney and a shorter outside (the 3-piece 'body'), but I'm not quite sure.

You can get it as either 1 mtank(solid clear polycarbonate tank) or you'll get two smaller metal tank sections and use the stock middle section.
It also comes with a smaller chimney: it cuts the size of the tank and volume roughly in half. I keep them on some tanks for when I'm in the mood to swap flavors frequently or if I'm using my mini and want the smaller profile for semi stealth vaping or if we are going to a function where we have to look like normal people.
My "dress"mod for the few occasions I have to wear a monkey suit is a provari mini with kayfun in nano-mode, it fits in my suit pocket better.
