Wow. I like my "factory" tank and was thrilled to be able to "upgrade" my "factory" tank by adding a "gimmicky" airflow base. Not everyone can afford to drop the $ for a new Nautilus. Or have the physical dexterity to rebuild coils.

Please try to be helpful instead of condescending. :glare:

Meh, the OP was asking for input, I gave it. I am sorry you feel I was being condescending.

Do you know if the coils from Evod tanks will work in the Aerotank. Not a fan of the dual coils and I have spare Evod coils

IMPORTANT NOTE, take a spare grommet from the top of the dual coil heads and flip it around onto the center tube in the aerotank. The duals are slightly taller, so a standard single coil will leak TERRIBLY if you don't do this. Took me a couple days to make that connection, but since then they've been great.

After using many different tanks over the past few years, I've narrowed my selections to my two favorites: The ehpro Kayfun Lite + (clone) and the Kanger AeroTank. Granted, I use my kayfun a lot more, and the aerotank is just my go-to tank when I'm too lazy to build a new coil for my kayfun. Side note: I actually build the coils/wicks myself for my AeroTank as well using cotton - and it makes a considerable difference in my opinion.

What I've learned is that there really isn't one solid tank/rba/dripper/etc. that's going to perform flawlessly every time. However, learning the in's and out's of your topper can make it perform much better and achieve near flawless performance.

While I do agree that the AeroTank's airflow ring is an issue that Kanger should address, there are tips and methods to prevent the ring from getting stuck. If you've ever looked closely at the airflow ring on the AeroTank, you'd notice that the threads used for this ring are extremely narrow. This means that if any dirt/juice/dust gets into those threads, it's going to impede movement. In the first month that I owned this device, the ring would slide perfectly. However, over the next few weeks it started to get stuck. To fix this, I carefully put the ring to the bottom-most position and ran the top portion under warm water to clean it. I then proceeded to move the ring to the top and clean the other half. I usually do this every time I would clean my tank or change flavors - so just about every week.

The real issue that I think needs to be addressed is not with the threading of the airflow ring, but rather the entire AeroTank base as a whole. It's my opinion that what is happening here is that (over time) juice is slowly seeping out of the air holes in the base and dripping into the threading for the airflow ring.

Ever since making sure that I keep these threads clean, I've had no problem with the AeroTank. In my opinion, it's a solid tank that's just going to work so long as you keep up with it. I guess that's why it's my go-to tank at the moment. Though if you're interested in RBA's...you could always join the dark side and get a Kayfun (or Russian) - though I'm not sure you'd consider them "user friendly" :p

You might want to look the Smok Trophy Tank. It's like a protank, it's glass, holds a decent amount of liquid and the coils are not so expensive. It's basic. And it's relatively cheap. The coils are also rebuildable. It sells for around 10-12 dollars depending where, and if you can find it on sale, so cheaper than a Protank 2 or 3. Here it is at Madvapes, if you look around you might find it for less.

The Trophy Bottom Coil Tank

Thanks much! This looks promising. So, are the coils the same common ones that the ProTanks use? I don't understand all of the terminology, and I don't understand the Single/Dual coil distinction. Again, convenience is key. Ideally, I like to make one trip a month to the vape shop for juice and coils/cartos. I don't build or rebuild anything. Lol.

Hypothetical for everyone: You are severely intoxicated and you need to vape. What do you choose, outside of disposables or prefilled cartos? I've been vaping for about 2 years now. I've done extremely well, but there are times when it is so frustrating. You're down to your last couple of cartos and both of them burn up? You rely on your fancy new aero tank and it renders itself completely useless? I'm not a hobbyist, as much as I respect you guys. I just want an effective, consistent, nicotine delivery system. Pretend that you are talking to an absolute newbie when responding. :)

This one killed me when I would put tanks on their sides and would immediately flood the drip tip and base leading to gurgle and juice on the tongue. Was due to the single coil kanger heads and even happened with them stock which was how I figured something was up. Must've changed wicking amounts and materials 20 times in 2 days and almost gave it up before figuring it out.

No tank is ever gonna be consistent 100% of the time. Different juices, the hit or miss sometimes of mass produced coil heads, sorry, it's just the nature of the beast. Unfortunately, no e-cig is going to have the same grab and go convenience of an analog. There is going to have to be some fiddling around. I myself love my Aerotank. Yes, the ring has gotten stuck a couple of times. I have always managed to unstick it eventually. I also have the Aspire Nautilus, but unless you want to commit to a whopping 5ml of juice in a tank, then you're better off with something smaller. Single coil/dual coils, The Aerotank is by default a dual coil system. That means that inside the little coil head there are 2 coils and 2 wicks. It means usually, lower resistance, and sucks up more juice. Some prefer this, some don't. Now, as far as your questions on the Trophy Tank. This tank is relatively new I think. I bought a couple just to have a backup since they were cheap. It's a pretty good tank IMHO. Many people like the Aro, also by Smok, but I like to see my juice, I hate those covered up Evod style tanks. The Trophy is the same company and uses the same coils as the Aro. It uses the same style of coil as the Kanger tanks but they're not interchangeable, different brand. They are single coil heads that come in a variety of resistances from 1.5 to 4.0 ohms. Here is the link for the coils. If you ever do get into rebuilding, these are easy to rebuild. They're pretty much identical to the Kangar heads. Good luck to you, hope you find something that works for you.
