Made a coil out of 30ga Kanthal on a 1/16 mandrel. Seven wraps and it came out at 1.8ohms. So far so good. vaping at 10 watts. No need for a flavor wick and no leakage. But it sure snaps and crackles!! Not sure if going to higher wattage is going to get me anything.
Remember, this is a Aerotank and a ITaste VTR.

Glad to hear it. I think 1.8 is fine for this setup, but you can always subtract a loop later. Some of my builds crack, some don't, some settle down with use. I think this is just juice splatter, doesn't seem to cause leaking or gurgling. If you fire the coil up after priming without a tank attached (I sometimes do), watch your eyes. Science!

You're right. The sucker fires up quick and get red hot in a nano second. I do test fire to make sure that it heats up from the center out. Sometimes I'll have a lazy coil and I have to gently nudge it to get it to light.
But so far so good. Been using it all afternoon and evening.
Now if I can just my mixes to work on my Hangsen tobacco DIYs....
Thanks for the guidance.
Just off topic, I went to school in Lenox up in the Brookkshires, (1960s). Not too far from Tanglewood. Used to come down and play Lacrosse with Phillips Academy. Did some skiing up there too!! Too dammed cold for me. My old bones can't take that cold any more.
