So I just started vaping again about 3 weeks ago, when I started I bought from my local smoke shop a generic ecig with a no name cart and no name 650mah battery. I really enjoyed it so I decided to step up my vaping equipment, so I purchased the highly reviewed kanger aerotank with a VV 1200mah battery, any reason why this no name disposable ecig is giving me twice as good vapor production and a smoother, more flavorful hit than my aerotank, I have tried every voltage and airflow combination and maybe 1ml out of my 2.5 I can vape on it like I want to other then that I'm getting burnt tastes and lack of vapor production in it and constantly have to adjust the voltage because it seems every time I hit my aero tank it hits differently with the same airflow and voltage. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Is it my battery possibly? I love vaping but looking for some experienced help before I go and buy a vamo in hopes of a better vape, was also considering the aspire nautilus, just not sure which route to go. Oh and btw I've been smoking 20pg 80vg eliquid at 12 and 18mg trying to find which is best, I am definitely sensitive to pg because 50/50 60/40 and 100pg makes my throat super sore. Sorry for the long rant but just looking for some experienced guidance here....

I use the Protank 3, its identical except for the air control. The coil quality has been hit and miss for some reason. Maybe try the second coil that came with it and see if its just something to do with it. I have the air control to add to my pt3 and it just allows more air than normal. If you set it at half open, its about the same as a non adjustable. 1200mah battery should do the trick also with vv. I can't see anything other than just the coil being the issue. Always get extra coils or learn how to make them possibly if you're a handy type of person, but be careful to make them in the correct resistance range. 1.4-2.5 ohm something like that.

In my opinion… I hate to say it because there are many vapers out there that love it…..

stay away from kanger products!!!!
everyone I know as well as myself has had nothing but problems with any kanger device(besides the Evod which I actually like)
The pro tank models just aren't designed very well and the coils are duds for me more times than I like…

Hate to be a debby downer, but thats just my opinion
Try the Evod, the iclear 16, the aspire nautilus, the vivi nova, OR personally I am in love with cartomizer tanks... all good vapes to me

but to answer your question you can just run the coil under hot water and leave it out to dry, or use a hairdryer or one of those hand dryers in public bathrooms lol

I'm here, when I'm here
I have kanger evods and mini pro's along with iclear 16's and 30's. The 30's are my favorites followed by the mini pro's and then evod. The 16's are too tight a draw IMO. No problems with any of the others. It's all about personal preference. What works for some may not work for others. I wanted to try a Aerotank but have heard more negative than positive about them.

I would have to guess that since you are using a high VG % you are having some wicking issues. The wicks in your coil heads aren't drawing in enough liquid when you are vaping and it is producing a burnt hit because there is not enough liquid to atomize and you are essentially vaping the silica in the stock heads. Just my :2c:

EDIT: you can try adding a few drops of distilled H2O to your liquid and it should feed better into your wicks.

Burnt hits come from lack of juice moving through the wicks. To increase juice flow you must increase vacuum in the tank. To increase vacuum in the tank you need to reduce the airflow. Close (turn the knurled ring towards the tank) until you can detect a noticeable change in the draw. If you close it too far you will increase the vacuum to the point of causing leaking/gurgling.

I like to prime the wick before filling the tank. After screwing the head into the base, gently wiggle the stove pipe until it pulls off. Be gentle so you don't displace the wicks. With the wicks exposed drop 2 to 4 drops of juice on the wicks and replace the stove pipe.

You can also try taking primer puffs. Take a few long draws with out firing the coil, this will help pull juice in to the wicks.

If you are using a thick juice, 65% VG or higher you might try removing one of the flavor wicks.

Hope this helps

I haven't tried any dual coil Kanger products, but from what I've been reading either Aspire or Innokin's iClear line does dual coil better then Kanger does. As for Kanger products, I've had pretty good luck with the Mini Protank 2 and 50/50 PG/VG juice. Wicks fine at that mix I think, and the Mini Protanks seem to gurgle less then other bottom coil tanks for my husband and I. I've since switched to carto tanks, which are basically tanks that you can put a cartomizer into. The carto has holes punched into the sides to allow liquid in to keep them moist all the time. They last longer then a carto without a tank. Cartos tend to give me better taste then even my iClear dual coil tanks, although I still occasionally use my iClear 16b since it matches my MVP 2 in Petal.

I am also looking to upgrade as I did not have any luck with the eCE4 system. Would like to get an honest opinion on a better setup. I watched videos on the AeroTank and Nautius. They work great on the video!!!!

Any suggestions as to a better upgrade (and on-line service for Canada) would help.

Tks

little birdhouse in your soul
With my three whole weeks of PTII experience and 3 whole days of iTaste VV 3.0, an Aerotank base and PTII everything else (including coils); I am in heaven. I also like the Aerotank drip tip better. 1 of 20 hits for me is dry and I will take a drag without firing the battery and it works just fine.

I have made no alterations other than the above and using 50/50 and 70p/30 juice

well for one, the aerotank is a dual coil and is recommended to use with a battery on 4.8 and higher voltage, the battery you have is just a little lower then recommended. also the aerotank vapes better with high PG mixes, you are using high vg, so either mix the juice with another high PG mix or add a little water to thin it out. i reccomend keeping the aerotank and getting a vv/ww mod like the smok ace or the vamo v5 for around 40-50 bucks, you will need LI-on batteries. If you dont plan on going that route just get a single coil clearomizer. aerotank is dual coil. hope this helps. let me know

I've found with all my kanger coils I need to dry burn them first, soak the wick in whatever ejuice I'll be using then vape away. If I don't they taste wakeful no matter how my voltage/wattage or airflow are set. Also I've heard of people removing wicks for higher vg juices but not sure if that can be done on the aero tank

It can be done. I took a new coil and pulled the wicks out with tweezers. Made a needle out of kanthal, then fed it through the bottom coil. Did the same the for the top. Trimmed the ends a few drops of juice, installed and vaped away. Cotton gives a more consistent wicking .
