Hi All,
Sorry to post another coil question but I need some help. I am using a kanger mini protank 3 and a itaste vv 3. I bought coils from avail when I was at there store. They are suppose to be 1.8 ohms. I put them on a tester and not one of them are 1.8. Some are like 2.7 not to bad I think but some are 2.48 not one is what it is suppose to be. Are these safe to use on my battery? It is not like it is one coil these are brand new and there are at least 15 of them. I have complained to avail about coils sent that were defected and they replaced them with no problem but now they will just think I am blowing smoking if I complain again, or am I over reacting over this?
Thanks for any help.

I just took them all out of the package and tested them as I had another one that was not the right oms. I have met these people in person at the hospital on day a couple of weeks back. Owner was nice customer service was great also. Lab people were cool. I don't want them to think I am trying to use them. I am not. These are brand new never used but now out of the package. 10 of these are the ones they sent me to replace 3 that did not have the rubber that goes over the wick or near the wick. Question, can I use them in my pv with out it hurting it?
Thank you for replying.

I would check it multiple times with and without juice... meaning take the atty all the way out, turn a bit and reinsert. My VV3 is notorious for inconsistent ohms readings. I read on another thread that the post gets pushed down by some clearos/tanks causing that. I just adjust my wattage/voltage to give the same vape experience no matter the ohms... that's the beauty of the battery.

The coil wire makes electrical contact by sqeezing between metal and the little isulator grommet (2nd from the left in the pic below)

So you would get some variation in resistance although 1 ohm sounds like alot to me.

Maybe your tester is reading everything about 1 ohm too high?

While I personally like to Vape at the high ohms, I totally get you wanting what you paid for. To answer you question though, no it will not hurt to vape that. If you are vaping with wattage, it will adjust itself, more or less...just have to find you sweet spot. Go higher or lower on the watts until you find what you like.

I've definitely noticed Kanger coils seem to be off a bit from their advertised resistance, at least according to my MVP2. I've used the coils for my EVOD and MiniPT 2. These are made by Kanger coils in the 5-pc box. 1.8 ohm coils have read anywhere between 2 and 2.4 ohms for me. A few have actually been spot on, but that is the exception. The coil I'm using now came from a 1.8 box but reads 2.1. This doesn't really bother me though, it peforms fine and I use wattage anyway. You should also be fine using a 2.7 ohm coil, just need to bump up the voltage.

Thank you all for the info. I thought I could use them but did not want to kill my new battery. Now I have used coils and I am taking out the old wicks and dry burning them and then using cotton in the old coil. Is this ok so long as my oms are still in the range of 2.2 2.14? Thank you all for taking the time to help a new person. I know you must get tired of hearing the same thing. I hope one day to be able to help someone new to give back. I am now going to try to rebuild a coil :) Wish me luck.

anywhere from 1.5 to 3 ohms is good.

less than 1 ohm or more than 5 ohms is on the extreme side of things.

I actually have a coil running the last week or so that was about 5 ohms when I started, but the last couple days its been reading 6.8!

Yes, re-wicking with cotton is fine. You'll probably like them much more with cotton than you did with the original silica wicks.
