I am some what new to vaporing ....I am using a Kanger Tech Mini ProTank 3 that uses the dual coils 1.8, seems every other boxes of 5 I buy from my local vape shop has at least 1 bad coil in it.....the first time I took it back to my local shop but they made statement to me that they usually don't exchange another one for a bad one, this last box I brought last week has another bad coil in it....is there any recourse I can do though Kanger Tech to get back my money or working coils exchanges.

Hey MouseD. I have a couple of Aerotanks that use those coils, but I haven't had them long, have only bought a few packs, and I attribute my good luck with them to just that -- luck. I have had that happen with Aspire coils.

I've heard people on this forum complain about bad coils, but I've never heard anyone mention any recourse. It seems almost taken for granted that some of them are bad. If you figure anything out, let us know.

While I didn't run into bad ones in the three packs I've bought, I did go through them quickly, so have been trying my hand at rebuilding them. That's an option to consider.

Sorry that happened to you.

You're boned. Lol! No one I've ever heard of will give a refund on coils. You can rebuild those duals, but I hear it's a PITA. I had the same prob with my ProTank from Kanger. When I upgraded t the Nautilus I had MUCH better luck. Used that thing for several months ad never got a bad coil. And the coils last 2 weeks or more. You might think about an upgrade. :2c:

Kanger has NEW cotton wool coils for all the old "legacy" products.
The silica coils were always hit and miss, most UK shop have stopped selling the single coils and the duals will follow very soon.
Asking Kanger to do anything would be pointless. Everything has to go through vendors, I leaned this the hard way with Joyetech.
I'm expecting a shipment of the coils for the old tanks; SOCC, TOCC, VOCC and will review them in a few weeks for now, once they have been tested.

You also want to make sure the store is actually selling you real Kanger coils. Make sure they are in the actual blister pack with Kanger on them. I always had good luck with them when I used them.

Also maybe try a different store to buy them if you have that option, Or directly from Fastech

I've used Kanger tanks ever since I switched to glass tanks and have had mostly good luck with them. As has already been mentioned, Kanger has now come out with organic cotton coils. The flavor is HUGELY improved over the old silica wicking. They seem to require more power than the older coils, though, so stick with the 1.8 ohms unless you have a mod with 30+ wattage. And for the best flavor I've ever had from a Kanger tank, try the Subtank line. I have the Subtank Plus and it's amazing for flavor and for big clouds.

It's just a "to-be-expected" thing that in every batch of 5 there's going to be at least 1 wonky head. I've had boxes of 5 where 2 or 3 behave weird. It'll make you think it's something with your tank but nope, it's just the head. They're kinda shoddily mass-produced (their failure rate, as you can experience, is really high.) It definitely sucks, but it's something many vapers eventually move away from as they get into rebuilding/relying on their own failure rates rather than the sketchy China factories that pump out these heads.

I agree with @Larry J, the new Subtank OCC/VOCC heads seem to be a LOT better, primarily because of the cotton wicking. By default they come with .5 ohm heads, but you can get 1.2 ohm heads. Just make sure you have a device that can supply ample power to that kind of coil before you pull the trigger on a Subtank Nano (I'd assume you'd prefer that size, given your current ProTank Mini).

I hear a large number of people complaining about coil issues... I have had Kanger tanks for over a year and have only bought 2 packs of coils. Rebuilding 10 coils and rewicking them are a snap. All 10 take me less than an hour and a half if I am taking my time. Granted I have gone away from Dual Coils when rebuilding.

Show off. :) It took me three hours to rebuild one, but then one hour to do the another four.

Thanks for all the replies....I have been looking at the new sub tank set up....but as of right now my budget is very limited..it sucks living on a VA disability pension and you can't work. As for rebuilding them I can't handle the small parts with my hands...my hands and wrists are some what damaged....I have quite a bit of nerve damage in my hands.
