Okay, this is me coiling...

I buy my PT coils bulk from lightening vapes and they come like this:

My coiling kit:

Very important tools for me to coil. Needle nose pliers and flat head toenail clippers:

All the pieces that each head needs before assembling:

Assemble basic pieces with my coiling jig:

29 gauge wire threaded to the jig and leading bit starting a wrap to hold with pliers:

Holding onto the wire and jig bar to twist the jig head slowly making sure not to overlap wraps:

I shoot for 9 or 10 wraps to give me enough wire to use in assembling as I'd like my coil to be around seven wraps total:

After unwrapping some coils to give me longer legs to work with ending at 7 wraps left on jig bar for assembling:

Both legs through base held against the jig bar:

Putting in the insulator with one leg through the center of the silicon insulator and one on the outside of the insulator. You have to work it in by pushing the sides of the insulator with your thumb nail:

All pushed in! Now trim the legs and put in the firing pin making sure the bar is heald tight against the bottom of the inner base:

Done!! :thumb:

Put in tank base and attach to a vv devise to check ohms, 1.5, looking good!!

Dry burn and compress coils:

It now reads 1.7...personally I'll rip it apart and redo this as I prefer 1.1-1.3 for my own use. :D

Great post Meg. I have a baggie of used Protank II Mini coils I may have to give a try this weekend.

Give it a try, bet you find it easier than you think. I'm not as methodical as Megan, I just use any thing that's convenient to wind a coil, toothpick, large straightened out paperclip, little blue screwdrivers that come with a kayfun, q-tip, etc. I was using 30ga kanthal, but ran out a while back, so since I had roll of 28 ga I just started using it. I would recommend 30 or 32 ga to start with. 28 ga is rather large to get enough wraps to be able to fit. It works fine for me coming in around 0.9 ohms. I'm using a regulated mod so I can't really go much below that.

Always remember, be safe....
