Hi guys me again!! So I have the crown tank and really enjoy it with the .25 coil, also I just bought a TFV4 kit last Saturday which is good but wqas a bit disapointed with the taste production. The vapor production is great on the TFV4 I have only been using the quad coil and from what i have read a lot of folks says it tends to mute the flavor? Also I read that that the tripple coil produces better flavor? Can you guys confirm? I was thinking of getting the drip box by Kanger but only if it has flavor production that is on Par with the crown or better can anyone advise if it would be better for flavor than the tanks I currently have? Thanks a lot appreciate any help!

The flavor from the Dripbox is NOT nearly as good as the tfv4. It is easier to use though since I vape thick juice and the TVF4 wicks maybe only last a few hours; I use a Clapton coil and inevitably I take one too many hits, get a dry hit and burn up the wick.

When I go out with my tfv4 I have to take all my tool in case I need to re-wick.

I'm going to start trying to find a more flavorful coil(s) for the Dripbox.

Any coil suggestions?? Cooler and more flavor would be great!!

@ErnieKim i tried the Dropbox at my Vap shop it was pretty good on the flavor. Before the tfv4 I was vaping the crown tank and I find the tfv4 pretty low on the flavor side. I've tried the rba's as well and not getting any good flavor at all either there. So far the quad coil as been the best on the tfv4!

I'm not a big fan of the included atty on the dripbox. I've switched to using a velocity clone and closing down the airflow tight (the only rda I had with a bf pin ~ I like it way better than the included atty). I don't imagine I'll be messing with the dripbox much more, though I might set it up for roadtrips this summer. Plus, you can use whatever rda/coil combination you want, but I believe you should be building for 3.7 volts.

I really loved the TFV4 at first, I paired it with a rx200 and used that almost exclusively for two months (mostly stuck to the triple coil). The bulk, battery drain, and juice drain all had me looking for a new tank. I picked up the cleito not expecting much, maybe it would be good enough that I could use my single 18650 mods again, they'd been collecting dust. I was blown away with the airflow and flavour of the cleito. I've barely touched anything else since. The vape I get from the cleito is goldilocks for me.

I've been messing with the dripbox and the theorem this last week. The dripbox is more of a curiosity, I can't see it being my go to. As for the theorem, I'm really enjoying a 1.6 ohm spaced single coil at 7.3v and 33w, with just the back/side airflow open ~ I'll have to get some ss wire soon. The notch coil had a moment or two that seemed promising, but it gunked up hellah fast, I was rewicking within a few hours, just mucky and black, and it was hard to maintain good wicking. Once I get the coils and wicking for it wired, I'll probably stick on the metal covered sleeve. Until then I use the glass so I can check on the wick/coil ~ I had forgotten how much dry hits suck.

Why not try building a couple 3 mm inner diameter coils out of 28 gauge kanthal? The coils on the decks of the Dripbox look to be stainless steel. Not sure how many wraps the stock coils use, but I would try about 5 or 6 with kanthal. That would get you a net ohm with dual coils somewhere around 0.55 to 0.65 I think. IIRC, the Dripbox fires a constant 60 Watts, so you're limited to coil resistance for cooler or warmer vape. You may want to try higher resistance coils.

I put in two clapton coils that deliver 2.5 ohms; similar to the stock coils. But Wow, the flavor is much improved.

TFV4 coils are tricky. Quad coils produce massive clouds but like you heard, kind of mutes the flavor. If you look inside the coil, its 4 coils in parallel. While a lot of people like parallel coils on a dripper, I find the quad doesn't work well for a tank. On the other hand the triple coil is 3 separate coils with 3 separate chambers. The juice hole is big enough to allow juice to flow in without dry hitting and essentially creating 3 separate streams of flavor. It's important to note that wattage used plays a big factor. My wife and I each have a TFV4, she prefers the quad coils over the triples, but vapes it at 70w as oppose to the more common 100w that I've seen a few people vape at. She prefers the quads mostly though because she likes seeing a more dense cloud which apparently she sees more in the quad than the trips. I prefer the triple coils (when using the stock coils that I rarely do) over the quads, and I vape that a 85w, after those 2 levels, we found we started losing flavor.

Raising the coils on the stock Dripbox atty makes a huge difference. I'm running a .8 ohm dual build on mine, with the coils raised even with the top of the posts and as close to the outside as I could get the. Shoot for the air holes, and it woke the flavor right up.
I tried a 1.2 ohm build on it and it just sucked! There is just too much air flow in the stock atty to go that low, you can't produce enough heat with the AFC it's set up with.
I have a velocity mini I still need to get set up on it to try. I've used a Chalice III and the flavor is to die for, but in around 2 hours I went through 6ml of juice! I'm not sure I can afford to feed the silly thing!
I believe the stock coils are Ni, but I cannot verify that.

I built in the dual RBA deck 2.5 diameter 8 wraps 24 gauge kanthal and barely any flavor :(. I bought the griffin tank built the same setup as far as coils and wayyyyy better flavor. Am I doing something wrong on the tfva? Although I only took eleven hits of the tfva RBA dual maybe needs to break in more?

I prefer the TFV4 quad coils at around 70 -75 watts and I get plenty of flavor. Any higher and the flavor subsides a bit. If you want a lot of flavor try the Dual Clapton Coil .35 ohms and a good vape around 60-75 watts with loads of flavor.
@gofishtx i don't find the flavor on the tfv4 as pronounced as the crown. Have you tried the sextuplet coil? That ones not bad at all. Bought the griffin RBA and wow what a difference amazing flavor!! RBA's produce better flavor then pre built coils no?

Yes I have tried the sextuple coil and the triple as well as the Clapton RBA and the Dual coil RBA. The dual Clapton and the sextiuple coil have amazing flavor as do the rbas. I still prefer the quad coil and don't notice much if any difference in the flavor.. You are comparing apples to oranges as the TFV4 coils are factory built and the Crown Tank is an RTA which is closer to dripping and of course will have better flavor. When I travel or for a quick coil change I like to be able to put in a factory coil and go without having to haul all my coil building supplies with me. These tanks can both fill different needs in your vaping arsenal.
