You know.... This is annoying me to no end. :) I'd love to get a glass clearo so I can finally give all those tank crackers a shot. I know I could get a Protank right now and be done with it, but with the 2 coming out.... the responsible part of me tells me "Wait... wait for the next revision with the eGo base that won't be so delicate, dumbass"

Grrr....

been testing one for a while now....much better than the original, but still hate these factories policies of rendering dealer stock obsolete every 2 weeks....pile that on top of slim to non existent profit margins and I am personally done dealing with China. Thumbs up on protank 2 performance though (and I am damn picky).

Y'all aware that the base for the mini works on the regular protank? There's your ego threading.

Rock,

Are you sure they will swap? The PT2 looks larger in diameter than the Mini does--but it would rock if they could be swapped! A gigantic EVOD pyrex zombie tank...

Hope so--I'm sure once they roll out it will all come together.

For me, I want Ego threading to hold those heavy pyrex tanks. Now that the PT2 is taller/heavier--it becomes more critical to stabilize the monster.

Yep they'll work just fine, check out shape of the glass by looking at one of the PT 2 5pc extra glass kits, It narrows at top and bottom. :toast:

This is an update of my previous post since I can no longer go back and edit. It has now been confirmed that the Kamry X9 (sold on FastTech as a "Protank" clone) is not made of glass.

April Update: Smoktech has just released a Pyrex and Metal DCT tank. It looks like manufacturers are finally responding to consumer requests for more durable gear! Smoktech glass dual coil cartomizer tank

*There is also a Pyrex Vivi Nova that just hit the market. No reviews yet on how it performs: Pyrex 3.5ml ViVi Nova Tank

*It appears the manufacturers have figured out that there is a big market for glass. Smoketch has the "ARO TANK," pyrex BCC that looks like a slim EVOD (it's hard to tell from the same pictures I've seen). It has a colorful metal sleeve with a window like an EVOD. They haven't hit the market yet (except for pre-orders), but will very soon. ARO TANK

*The Kanger Protank has already been cloned. It's called the "X9 Protank" and is made by Kamry. Early reviews are very positive. X9 Protank

There's a protank 2 mini as well I believe it's ego threaded.

I have had two protank minis so far. I broke both of them!!!! The protank 2 is great for clumsy folk like me. I have been vaping it for a week and it is just like the og protank but better!! If i break the glass, i can replace the glass rather than the whole thing! But i did notice that the coils it comes with are junk. I had to rebuild both of them right out of the box.

Annoying: I get very little airflow with my Protank 2 on my Provari. The 3 holes around the base are placed a little lower than on the base of my PT1 so I have to unscrew the tank quite a lot in order to get acceptable airflow. And if I screw it the way I did with my PT1, I actually get ZERO airflow...

I fixed this by swapping the bases, but I don't know what I will do with the second one I ordered if has the same issue. No more spare PT1...

you ca still order the protank original bases. id be happy to provide a link, but it seems every single time i link to a dealer/supplier, i get my rear chewed by staff and it ends up getting removed. they are readly available. if you cant find one in france, let me know. i hav a fist full and will send you one for the price of shipping

what i would like to know is if the protank II is truely STAINLESS STEEL. have one on order so im sure ill find out regardless in the near future, BUT im sort of gunshy on alot of this stuff anymore as theres so much stuff out there thats marketed by dealers as "stainless steel" and it ends up being chrome washed brass (im alergic to brass, makes me blister). i went and ordered a bunch of the orignal protanks and then purely by accident found out they were chrome washed brass.

if they are actual stainless steel, id pay TWICE the price their asking for them. if im not mistake they are advertised as stainless by Kangertech, but so was the protank.

id als like to see a larger kit maybe come from them with a protank II tank and all of the stuff it comes wth now, but also maye an extra base and an extra pyrex tank.

That's actually really good news for me since I have a GGTS and it would allow me to control the airflow. I really hope that is the case when I get my Protank 2.
