To anyone that has a Provari and dosen't like the airy draw with a Protank inserting a o-ring #8 on top of the provary like this will solve that problem, it has the rigth thickness to tighten the air draw.

I did not like the cold drip tip so this is what i did. I placed over the drip tip a Polyolefin Heat Shrink Tubing and heated it carefully and trimed it.

I hope with this post i can help someone.

excellent tip!!! Don't have a provari, but this should work in most mods having a drip channel. Need to pick up some O rings!

I just got mine 2 days ago - the only flavor issues I noticed is due to the smell/aftertaste because of the atomizer head. The tank had the same plasticky smell however after boiling it for a minute, it went away. Can't quite boil the atomizer heads, so I have to burn it in before the plasticky flavor goes away. As for airy-ness, I just screw it down tight on my ProVari and that more or less does it. I get solid flavor and clouds upon clouds of vapor. Overall, I am impressed with it, and particularly with how easy it is to rebuild the atomizer head so it's practically a total rba even though they want you to buy the atomizer heads (at 1.50/piece on average, which is not bad...).

Maybe you got a bad unit? I'm most impressed by the Kanger Protank.

Just bought a protank and I have to say I am unimpressed. Really airy draw and hardly any flavour. Used both coils with same results, wrecked one by removing the "flavour wicks" and just can't get on with it. Am I doing something wrong?

Help!!

If I can't get to grips with it, can I sell it on here, or post a link to eBay auction or is that against rules?

Any help appreciated - gutted because its a lovely looking piece of kit!

I get a lot more vapor with the Protank than I do with an iClear 30, but very little flavor in comparison. The flavor is even less than a Vivi Nova, which I've always found had muted flavor to begin with. Same juice in both, and I've tried increasing the voltage but same problem.

Will this change over time, or it's always going to be like this and needs no break-in period? Even plugging airholes did nothing to improve the flavor.

If the flavor doesn't come out after tWo tanks, try removing a wick. If that doesn't help, try another head. If there is no imProvement after trying 3-4 different heads, either try rebuilding it yourself or admit defeat and accePt that the protank might not be for you

I noticed an immediate difference when I changed the wick to a piece of cotton-ball. Seemed almost...smoother? Maybe there was slightly less throat irritation. I want a good throat hit, and it still delivers, but it didn't feel as harsh. No silica irritation? I dunno, I won't go there...lol.

Smoother and AMAZING flavor is the only way I can describe it. A-MAZING! The difference is subtle yet substantial at the same time, like many things e-cig related.

The best part is that you don't have to re-coil the head. Just carefully pull the wick out. The coil is the same diameter as the wick, instead of strangling it, so it's easy to remove. Fingers, tweezers, whatever.

The only factor that could really mute flavor in one clearo but not in another is the wick/coil and the airflow (suction of juice into coil area). If the coil is too tight that could be an issue, but not the case here. You can easily slow airflow and increase suction of juice, but said that's not helping. It has to be the wick.

Try it, you'll love it. 30 day money back guarantee! But wait! There's more!

When I rebuild a Pro Tank atomizer I use this cotton wicking material:

Amazon.com: Cotton Square Braid Candle Wick - #1/0: Arts, Crafts & Sewing

Boil it for 15 minutes and let it dry.....30 feet of it? All you need is a ONE inch piece......TEMCO ships 100 feet of 30 or 32 gauge kanthal wire for about $6 to 9 depending on its daily price.

For less then $20 you can have GREAT tasting and performing Pro tank atomizers for years.

Did you add a wick for flavor? Or did you just use one wick?

ONE 3 mm cotton wick...no flavor "strands" needed on top with thick cotton.

I don't dry burn a cotton wick. I can use the same eliquid in it 7-8 tanks without the need to even rinse it out. If I wanted to change ejuice flavors I'd take it apart, run HOT tap water thru it and on it....Then drop it into my Rubbermaid container full of 2/3 distilled water and 1/3 white vinegar.....let it soak in there an hour and then let it air dry on a paper towel or two.

No need to dry burn.....after a week or so just make another atty head...takes me less then 5 minutes.

Whats special about THAT cotton? I get great taste and it doesn't fall apart.

how well does it work on thick juice like 100% vg ?

Doesn't cotton wick burn really easy if not constantly soaked in liquid and needs to be changed daily?
Yes and no. I was really surprised myself to have a wick work for a week with no issues besides rinsing off occasionally. If you cover at least one airhole (inside or outside I'm assuming), the suction is sucking juice into the wick and keeps it wet enough to protect it.

I have noticed that 4.2v with a 1.8 head can burn the cotton a little if I'm not careful, but 3.7v w/ a 1.8=Heaven. Rinse it off in a few days and it's pure white.

Cotton absorbs a LOT of juice, glass fibers are...well...glass. The flavor that comes through with cotton is excellent and I'm assuming it's because of a higher concentration of nic and flavor molecules in the wick.
