Took off the band aid and wrapped the bottom with teflon tape, poked out the holes...works wonderful.

I guess I'll have to go find that plastic washer video.

I was thinking of using a nice clay poker chip.

Someone should design the perfect spacer and start manufacturing them.
I'll bet we could get China to make them for next to nothing.

Here's the video....she shows the plastic washer during it. She shows it being used on a Vamo, but I would imagine that this could be applied to many devices....

Of course I like the glass. Has anyone done a durability test? I didn't have the time to read all 300 replies, but one poster said it fell on the concrete and held up just fine.

Glass is glass, wife broke hers just last nite dropping it on a tiled floor. The weight of the vamo she had it on didn't help any. There's been a bunch of reports of it cracking, seems to be with heavier mods, not the lightweight ego style batteries.

The other weakness and fault I've had is the 510 threads, I've had one that snapped clean off the base just unscrewing it from the battery. Made a post somewhere, and others reported the same thing happened. Only 2 vendors carry the base part, stocks are fluctuating since it appears to be a common issue.

So if u crack the glass, keep the base part for the next one :)

Thanks for the info on that. I'd think pyrex would be able to handle quite a bit unless it hit just right. But, sure, it's not immune from cracking.

I think I spoke to soon about how much I like these. Or I need to learn more or make some adjustments or whatever. The gurgling/flooding problem has started and won't go away now. Back to the drawing board.

As for the infamous protank gurgle, that happens at the top of the replaceable head tube about 1/2 way up the air tube. Simplest way to deal with it is if/when it becomes a bother just slide a q-tip down the airway and invert the whole battery+tank while rotating the q-tip slowly. No need to worry about damaging your coil as the q-tip is too fat to get that far down. If the gurgle is not completely gone just use the other end of the q-tip and repeat.

The problem comes from condensation going back down the airway and filling up the space between the top of the replaceable coil head and the airway tube. As this small space collects liquid it forms a kind of bubble partially obstructing the airway and causing a gurgle.

Enjoy your new tanks

As far as the flooding goes, start by vaping without taking out a wick. I initially took out a wick as others have suggested (I use only 100% VG) and noticed more gurgling. I replaced the wick and now the gurgling is infrequent. I also don't let the tank go less than 50% (some say 2/3) before refilling. If gurgling/flooding does occur, simply turn your ProTank upside down and insert a Q-Tip into the mouthpiece as far as possible and turn. This should return it back to normal. I have 6 ProTanks and 2 EVODs running thick 100% VG juice and am loving these and I am still on the original heads after about a months worth of use. BCC's are the way to go for me and I can run damaging juices in the Pyrex with no worries.

Edit: VClouds beat me to the Q-Tip trick, but yes that will solve your issue.

Yeah, that works, but then 5 draws later it's flooding again. Back to the vivi until I figure this out.

I really dont know why people by this kind of equipment when they can enjoy carto @ tank

For me it was a combo of pyrex tank I can safely put any e-liquid in and a cheep replaceable head that I can rebuild if I want to.

Some people like tanks others like cartomizers while others still prefer dripping, personal preference is king. ;)

If youre trolling then shoo shoo

If youre really asking, there are sooooo many reasons one may prefer a Protank over carto tank. Pyrex glass, ease of use (fill and go, no punching, no burning cartos, no priming), low maintenance cost (you cant rebuild cartos, can you? Yeah, didnt think so). Cheap initial investment too for the materials involved.

Imo, the Protank is an A-. Is it the holy grail of vaping? no. It is however, a great low cost bottom coil tank system for the beginner to intermediate vaper. Oh, and you can rebuild them without much trouble. I have one on my Vamo that goes everywhere with me. I have never had any flooding or leaking issues. I did find that everything tasted burnt over about 6 watts, then I found a post about pulling the top wick (plenty how-to vids on youtube) now i'm back to MY sweetspot,7.5watts. I like the airy hit, I found that I can tweak the way I pull on it and get slight changes in the flavor of my juices. Final thought, give it a try and take it for what it is.

I have five Protanks and I've been using them for a couple of months and the only problems I've had is I dropped one breaking the seal between the tip and the tank causing it to leak and one flooded when I removed a flavor wick. I put it back and it has been fine otherwise I haven't had any leaking, gurgling or dryhits in two months of vaping 3-5 mil a day.:)
