I've been disappointed with it, too. I got it so I'd have something to vape cinnamon in, and I can barely taste it. I use a strong cinnamon flavor that I've had to dilute with unflavored before, because it was so intense. With the Protank, I'm getting the ...-end of the juice's flavor, the burnt nasty end of the flavor spectrum, without the sweet end of it showing up at all. Really blah.

And it sounds like a wind tunnel. NASA keeps calling me, asking if they can test their equipment in it.

I'll try plugging the holes, see if that helps. So far, though, I couldn't recommend it to anyone.

First thing I would try you dont like the draw or the flavor:

1 - take out one of the flavor wicks from the head
2- plug at least 2 of the 4 air holes using teflon tape. Wrapping the tape around to block all 4 and then poking through two of them.

Next would be giving it a day or two with the same flavor to really let it start to come out. I dont really know why it gets better after sitting overnight, but it does...

I know Ocelot is using a Provari, but what about the rest of you? Flavor comes with heat. With the open Draw and bottom mounted 2.5 ohm coil the Kanger needs a bit of power to get things heated up. Cool e-liquid is almost tasteless so this could be part of the problem.
Pulling wicks Before Testing is silly also. You will not know what is right for your juice without testing. Bubba's is all VG,very thick and some are using it in Protank with 1 wick removed. Anything thinner may or may not need wick adjustment.

I have 3 coming in a coop buy and will try to solve some of the mysteries everyone is posting about. But honestly, it is a single design attempting to work a balance for a thousand mixes. There must be a margin of compromise.

The airy draw didnt bother me THAT much, but I needed a little more resistance, to give my mouth time to get a good amount of vapor produced. With the airy draw, I had to take the slowest, longest draws ever. I like being able to have a little resistance, much the reason I would slam my cartons of analogs on concrete for like 2 minutes to pack my cigs down a 1/4 inch or more....

ive had good luck with them- no leaks, take is pretty good- better than the nova, super easy to recoil with you own wire and wick. the vivi's are now in the stash drawer!!!! lucky i guess!!!!! yes you can use evod heads, you dont even need to change the air-flow tube. even though its shorter than the pro tank one it seem too work fine!!!!!! :p:p

Ditto! I have 5 of them now...everyone performs flawlessly...with better flavor than I ever had with a carto tank or vivi nova. Actually I'm still on the first atomizer after 3 weeks 40 or so tanks of juice run through it with nothing more than rinsing head under water.

For draw tightening made easy I just take a piece of scotch tape and wrap it around the tank covering 3 of 4 of the air draw openings. Too tight? Shorten the tape so another hole is exposed.

I've changed the head once in a month but only because it turned pitch black

I had the same problem, all I did was cut a piece of plastic with a hole in the center. Place on the bottom of the tank before screwing on your device. Problem fixed.....BTW Taste is great, better then my viva nova

Good idea. I have loved my ProTank since rebuilding the heads using the EVOD insulator gasket.

I did notice the other day messing around when I placed one of my ProTanks on my 1300 spinner to see how it looks with included" thread skirt" for ego type batteries(whatever it's called) it sat totally flush. I took a few puffs and the draw was nice and tight.

It doesn't sit flush on my vamo. I'm going to try this. Simple but, smart.

OP The stock heads do not do VG well. Sorry you're disappointed. More info may help...

No worries. If you're a little competent you'll love them. Prefect size. Look sharp. The stock heads are inconsistent but, none do VG well. My natural wick rebuild gives wonderful vape. I have little to no leaks. Airy draw easy to resolve.
Just not a fan of the metal tip. Nice size but, when the metal hits your teeth it's like nails on a chalkboard. I think you'll love them. Feel free to ask away once you get them..

I was disappointed as well. I almost exclusively use glass carto tanks and was looking forward to the "plug and play" aspect of the Protank. In addition to the airy draw, mine leaks more than it should and, as I have posted on other threads, it doesn't perform well when the glass is cold. That said, I've gotten used to it. For me, it takes about as much fiddling as a Stardust, but it is glass. It also doesn't seem as flavorful as my carto tanks, but I don't have to prime cartos.

I had ordered two more and was disappointed enough with the first one to cancel the order, but have since acquired a second. The new one is just as airy, but hasn't leaked so far. I restricted the airflow on the first one, but it seemed to make it leak more. (I've been told the design is airy on purpose, so it won't leak, but I don't know if that's true.) I used a band aid, by the way, which actually worked quite well, since it has tiny holes that still let air in. I haven't tried restricting the airflow on the second one.

Other people have had different experiences, but for me: it gets points for being glass and ease of use; it loses points for airiness, leaking and loss of flavor. Overall, I think it's okay, but not the greatest. I also would not recommend it for new vapers, since if a person hasn't dealt with leaking onto the battery connection, occasionally getting a mouthful of juice and an airy draw with other devices they may get frustrated.
Thank you for these truths. The money you have saved fellow vapers...
