EXACTLY! I can't help but wonder if some of those who are dissatisfied expected far more from this device than it was intended for/is capable of. I think it's one of the best out there for "what it is". It's simply not = to rba or tank/carto.

I totally agree with your comments.

I am the first to say that, I love my protanks. For me, they are the best clearomizer delivery devices, which I have tried. However, they pale in comparison to my cartotanks and genny styled RBAs. To believe otherwise, one is setting themselves up for a big disappointment.

Best thing in the world - I dropped analogs 30 Jan - haven't had a single one since.
Kanger Protank is a clearomizer - and a damn good one - my favorite so far of the breed. They look good - and they vape well. They WILL put a spot of fluid on your center post (and no more) - period. Will they give the same vape as an RBA or dripping - not a chance. Want to be very rich - make a clearomizer that is as good as ANYTHING out there.

I love my ProTanks.
I use them on my Vamo's and they have never leaked.
My iBtanked tank (also on Vamo) makes more noise than the ProTank by a long shot.
I don't mind the airy draw. I found that if I slow it down and drag it out longer, I get such a strong hit, I can almost get "high".
Also it makes for a warmer hit and quieter hit. I'm set at 7 w
I just ordered 2 more. I'm fairly new to carto's and I love the ease of it being easy to refill and non-messy, like my clearos.
To each his own, but it sure was an up-grade for me.
Switching to pyrex, getting a clearo style, being rebuildable, and for $15 bucks ...Wahoooo

Been using mine for a few days now and my opinions are mixed.

Definitely airy compared with CE2 but getting more flavour once it warms up a bit, first thing in the morning is basically flavourless

A few people have mentioned the "flavour wick" and this may be helped by removing it, what is it and where is it??

If it is vaping good, I wouldn't recommend removing any of the wick that lays on top of the coil (I think this is what people are calling "flavor wick?). You could end up in flooding, as you are allowing a larger space between the post cap and the base. Also, if you already think its too airy, this is only going to loosen the draw. The old toothpick in one of the 510 connector air holes might solve both of your dislikes. This would tighten your draw, and consequently draw more fluid into the wick which could help with flavor. From my experience though, I would say don't try and tweak it too much... As some have mentioned above, its not an RBA and sometimes leaving well enough alone is the best advice.

Just my :2c:

The flavor wicks are the two wicks that lay directly on the coil. Those are put in to keep tank from flooding and to bring out the flavor of the juice even more. Some people remove 1 but when I did that, it started gurgling. I would leave them alone and just give it some time. Another thing is, let the wick get 'seasoned' I use 2 protanks for my fav juices and I only clean the coils about every 3rd or 4th tankful. The flavors are wonderful.

Just got my Hippo in the post (waiting for me after work). For those of you that do not like the airy draw, this is one answer.

It also acts like a pro ring, plus you can screw - unscrew to find the drag you want.

I know we should'nt have to buy add ons to make something work but then again we sould'nt have to Glue, Toothpick or Credit Card the bl**dy thing in the first place.

The hippo also saves having to buy a Pro Ring (wish i had seen it earlier could've saved money on the ring) to flatten off the Provari, it is the same site that sells the Twins, down side is its in greece, but i have bought 3 things from Greek shops and received all of them within a week.

Check it out.

I have 2 Protanks and plan on getting more. I use them primarily on my VAMO v2, but have tried them on a Provari. I have noticed that it is not as airy on the Provari but I don't have any issues on my VAMO. I haven't had any luck on my JoyE 1000mah passthrough at the low setting. Doesn't seem to have enough power to drive the tank. In my VAMO, I normally vary the voltage to produce different flavors with my juices. After talking to several people, I think it really comes down to what you like. I prefer a loose draw. I am fairly new to vaping, but I have tried MT3s and iClear30s. The Protank, IMO, is better than those. But I will say that I get different flavors in each tank.

Those airflow controllers might be the ticket I need, to quiet down my Protank a bit, on the eVic.
I'm currently using the Protank on my Vision Spinner, with the "beauty ring" that comes with the tank, and it seems to have silenced it a bit.
Between the 3 air holes in the centre pole of the tank, the 2 wide airflow channels also in the tank, and the 4 air inlets on top of the eVic, that could easily be the reason for the loud noises it's making at me :D
So cheers for the links :)

for anyone that doesn't like the draw but doesn't want to do a home patch there is also this at empire mods Tank Airflow Controller
I have a couple of those... Can't say I'd recommend them to anyone. They add a lot of weight and anything I've attached to them don't quite sit straight and have some wobble to them. The worst part is the design is subpar. The adjustment ring is flush with the base which makes it nearly impossible to adjust it while the tank is on it. If they added knurling to the edge and/or extending it a mm or two beyond the base, it might be usable.

I know many people who have one from empire that loves them and have had no problems at all from them
