The airway isn't adjustable aside from tightening the base down as much as possible. It would probably look nicer to apply a thin coat of superglue along one of the two grooved airways under the base or try to neatly solder it shut rather than having the point of a toothpick poking out.

Also, I haven't tried it for myself yet, but Edward over at Sun Vapers mentioned having to shave down the thicker rubber gasket of an eVod head to allow proper airflow when using it with a Protank. It may be too tight without shaving some off, but I bet you could take off just a bit at a time and test it to fine tune the draw to your liking.
You wouldn't see it. I mean in one of the inlet holes. When put together with a battery it isn't visible. All the images I've seen show the base has the two slots and then on the threaded stem, two holes.

Great review. I agree that while the packaging looks nice, it's too much considering the presentation adds a good bit to the cost of the whole kit. I hope local shops will decide to piece out some of their kits for those that just want a backup tank without paying the eGo skirt and fancy box, but I doubt they will.

Yeah, and the packaging affects the price in more ways than one. It's not just the cost of manufacturing the box, it's the added weight and volume (more so than the tank itself), which means fewer of a heavier item fit in a packing container- so that shipping cost from China adds up and gets passed on to the consumer.

I also don't think the packaging will change, for this one. But if it sells well, everyone else will start cloning it or taking design cues, and we'll end up with more / cheaper glass bottom coils on the market.

What is nvm? Starting a thread? I don't get it and it's bugging me! (. :

originally i posted a question about cleaning it then it evolved into a quick review then just a review so i copied and pasted it and posted it in a new thread mystery solved - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/394941-quick-protank-update.html

my question was how often should u clean and dryburn but i no longer care and will just google how to clean a t3/evod.

I just got mine in today. My impressions so far?

Vapor production is unreal. Very impressive!

Flavor production, yeah, not so much... It seems very muted. The T3 and MT3 are so much better in the flavor category IMO. Maybe it has something to do with the airiness of the draw? Who knows.

It is noisier than the aforementioned clearos, but so far, no gurgle, and no leaks yet.

Appearance and construction seem on par with other Kanger products and it's a very handsome setup, and looks really nice on the ProVari and Zmax, although I haven't used it on those devices yet.

Here is a pic of it on an Altoids DNA mod though. 2.6Ω at 9W (4.9v)

To me, yes, it's muted. I will admit, I skipped the whole Vivi Nova craze as I hate top coil clearomizers, and as many good reviews they got, I could just never pull the trigger on one. I wouldn't have even tried the T3 if I hadn't borrowed my wife's in a pinch one day and found it to be surprisingly very good. I have since become a fan of them, and then the MT3 (they are even better rebuilt with mesh).

I had the same hopes for this one. Maybe after a rebuild it will be better for me.

I'm not saying it's bad, there is a lot I like about it... being made of glass for one, and the huge vapor production as well.

If Kanger could mix all the good in this tank with the flavor of the T3, then it would be simply amazing.

This is of course, just my opinion, and YMMV.

I'm going to design some kind of soft squishy washer deal to put between Pro Tank and batter connection to decrease airiness and noise. My taster is good today and I'm getting better than average flavor. No better no worse than Pyrex Carto set ups.its nice to have it really because I won't buy the plastics anymore, taste and paranoid about weird juices fogging it and cracking. Is got me looking for an RBA Pyrex tank now. That is going to take some research on my part but THIS was easy and so I'd get it again if I broke it but one will do. And anyone have a washer idea a. I was thinking I could tie a French silk ribbon around there too. Has to be done right or floral tape and cover that. It definitely is way too airy and a little too noisey. Any ideas about washer material? Squishy maybe an appropriate color or ?

Am I mistaken? scroll to the 5th image down. You can't just block one or both of the holes there on the base to restrict airflow?

I got 2 of these yesterday, one is leaking like crazy from the bottom, I tried a new coil wick but same problem. The other unit works perfect. Has anyone else had this problem??
Suggestions anyone:confused:

Assuming you got it from Sun Vapers, there's an instructional video that'll walk you through the exchange process here: Kanger Protank Leaking issues.
