Hi and welcome. I don't know of a good way to soak them without alcohol. You can soak them in water, but I'd leave them soak 2-3 days, probably, then rinse them, then make sure they are completely dry before using. Water in the wick impedes the ability of juice to flow. They have to be really dry. You can air-dry them on a paper towel, or use a hair dryer. Frankly, though, I don't think you're going to have a lot of luck with that.

Thanks for the info. I was also thinking of buying an Ultrasonic Cleaner and using vodka. I've heard many great results from using one.

These coils are hard to clean completely, but can be refreshed a little with what you suggested. Just remember to use cheap vodka and not the good stuff!

I run a number of Kanger subtanks and got tired of less-than-steller results from cleaning and went with the Kanger rebuildable RBA sections in all of them. I haven't purchased a single factory coil in a long time that way.

Any vertical coil with a wide enough bore can be reamed out using a dry cotton swab/q-tip. Some may need to have a bit of cotton removed to fit but screwing a couple of clean swabs through the coil every couple of days has allowed me to get some crazy mileage out of only 1 coil.
Multiple months in fact.
Of course using multiple flavours will impact my results but for a single flavour set-up this technique works great. ymmv. Cheers.

Hello!

I've seen many different ways to clean the coils for every kind of mod, but not the Kanger Subox Nano coils. What is the best way to clean the .5 ohm and the 1.5 ohm coils for longer use without using alcohol or everclear (which in the USA is impossible to obtain). Thanks, Sultrylady
howdy! and welcome!

cheap vodka should work pretty well - i tend to use everclear/ PGA -and get pretty good mileage out of 'em :)

I just began vaping so I don't know what an RBA rebuildable coil is :?: How much are they?
the rba is not expensive ($5-10 for the 'deck' then cost of wire and wicking essentially) but if you are using the kanger nano, i don't believe the rba fits it - will fit the mini and the full size

keep in mind, your mod should be capable of running the subtank mini with same coils, though tank would be a little bigger, diameter wise

Oh! I thought you said you couldn't get alcohol. Yes, if you can get vodka or everclear, that's the way to go. And an ultrasonic cleaner would also be helpful. Still, building coils is a lot cheaper in the long run. But if that's the way to want to go, I'd suggest an RTA rather than a prefab coil tank with a RBA adapter. RTAs are easier to do and tend to work better.

Its not impossible to obtain in the US.

alcohol regz are done by state and region.

Here in Tucson i can get Everclear at a neatby grocery store

When i livec in Washington you had to be any kind of a therapist.

When i live in Washington i found an accupuncturist. Explains that i had legitimate need for Everclear. He bought a bottle then i bought the Everclear from him.

I do a limited bit of acupuncture on myself and need to sterilize my needles
