I just received my Kanger Sub Ohm in the mail today. It does have a very slight oily smell.
I plan on using it with the 1.2 ohm coil on an istick at 3.0 Volts at 6.9 Watts. Would this work ok?
I know I have to vape on l lot higher wattage when I use the .5 ohm coil. The weakest juice I have is 16 mg., This should work on the 1.2 ohm coil I think.

16mg nic would have me sick as a dog in pretty short order on this tank, but everyone's nic satisfaction level is different. So if it works for you it's great, but maybe vape a little slowly at first to test it out to make sure that nic level is appropriate. This tank can put out a fair bit of vapor, which means it will be saturated with quite a bit of nic.

Jazzman, That's why I asked what others were using. Is it true that you should use a lot less nicotine in the RBA type tanks?

It isn't that it's less nic, it's just that as you take in more vapor that equals the same amount of total nic with a lower nic juice than you used to get with a higher nic juice and less vapor. I know that doesn't really make sense until you try it, but usually if you blow out bigger clouds a lower amount of nic % in the juice will deliver the same nic fix. The real goal is to get a satisfying amount of nic in your system, and higher vapor volume just gets it there quicker so most folks cut their nic level as a result. I know for me, and many others, if I take in too much nic I will first experience a slight dizziness and if I continue a sick feeling. There really is no easy way to explain it, but if you get that dizzy, loopy nic experience... ease off the nic a bit until you find the right level for you.

Maybe that makes no sense, but just approach it cautiously and realize with a more powerful tank system you need to redefine what's the best vape for you.

I guess it comes down to preference, but I would start at 10 or 12 watts with the 1.2 coil personally.

hmm weird the oil thing possibly a clone? i ordered mine straight threw the kanger site preordered it, it came got it unboxed and it smelled awful like fresh rubber smell, broke it down completely washed it in hot water then gave it a quick vodka bath, dried it, works fine. im using the prebult coil .5 at 27s watts with max VG ejuice, been running it for awhile at about 20ish mls of fluid so far. this thing just sucks up the juice only downside of it. im not using the original tip tho it got to hot when i was chain vaping so i switched to a Cherry vapes ming tip its a tight fit but it works alot better. im getting a slight burnt taste at the moment but im thinking that because the coils starting to get gunked up might be time for a replacement soon.

My sub tank has gone back in the box. I tried it on the .5 ohm coil and also the 1.2 ohm coil at different watt settings. I feel this thing is strictly for getting your nicotine fix using 1 or 2 lung hits, not for enjoying smoking. I like to enjoy my vaping experience which I am unable to do with the sub tank.

Most ppl feel that way so they cut down on the nicotine level. Your getting more juice so your getting more flavor also getting more nicotine with each draw. Do your self a favor and drop the nicotine by more than half and you will be happy camper :toast:

Yeah this is a whole different world than an istick with an aerotank. Starting as low as I can get it, and only one air hole open. The 1.2 coil needed to be broken in for a bit. Had a "factory" taste at first. My 3mg adv max vg is just coming up in taste now and I love it. Changed the drip tip. Better.

tube mods rock btw.

How many watts do you like to run the sub tank on?

I dropped the Nicotine level from 18 to a mixture of 8 and 0. No help.
I normally vape at 10mg with tanks like my Nautilus at 1.8 ohms and that was just fine for me.

I then got an Atlantis and put the same strength juice in there and almost choked to death from the nic being so strong at .5 ohms. I quickly got some 4mg nic and much much better! I also just picked up the Subtank and am really liking that as well with the lower nic juice. Been off analogs for 10 months now and I actually got my first nicotine buzz tonight for the first time since I started smoking 27 years ago. Amazing what a .5 ohm coil will do...

On another note, my only complaint with the Subtank is that the 22mm collar fused itself to the base and it won't come off, now I need to find a new base so I'm not limited to keeping this collar on forever. I'll check with MFS first to see if they'll RMA one or RMA the whole thing and swap units. Other than that, really loving this thing. Even rebuilt one of the coil heads already to see how easy it would be to take apart a stock coil and make a "better" one and this has to be one of the easiest heads to rebuild, almost as easy as the RDA head they give you :)

I think sub ohm tanks means they use coils are below 1.0 ohm..don't know about the Kanger but my Atlantis sub ohm tank uses a coil at .5 ohm..that said it vapes great between 45 and 50 watts, depending what the VG mix is in my juice. 6mgs of nic does the trick for me at these wattage settings using a tank but when I drip I cut it back to 3 mgs..anymore than that my hair feels like its on fire! Lol

I hear you on the 22 mm reducer the first time I tried to take it off what a chore. I then put a light film of oil on it and now no problems.
