There's definitely a learning curve with the T3. That said, there's been a change implemented and the T3 has been upgraded to T3S. It has a similar ego threaded base, but the coil is separate like the Evod and Protank and it screws into the base. I just got my new bases and heads on Thursday and all is working better than ever.
Some things that may help you, I know they helped me:
Make sure the SS pin is firmly in place in the insulator.
At the first sign of overwicking pull the center post and readjust the flavor wicks so they lay side by side. If you have glass wick you can replace the flavor wicks too. Also, many peeps recommend cotton wicks using 100% cotton balls.
Wash the clearo between fills with hot water, especially if you're vaping dark or sweet juice.
If you're using a fixed voltage battery @ 3.3 or 3.7 volts consider building a lower ohm coil for the T3. I've had many replacement bases that ohm out at over 3 ohms, some approaching 4 ohms (quality control ???). The fixed voltage batteries even at 3.7v will have difficulty properly vaporizing your juice and it can cause the coil to gunk up and a lot of things can happen from there that will make you want to smash the clearo with a sledgehammer.
I really like the T3S and have 2 for my alternate flavors in addition to a Protank as my main delivery device. They're definitely a little bit of regular maintenance and not like some top coil clearos that are pretty much fill and vape until they die. Hope this helps a little. If not it helped my typing practice
