I was looking at these myself.. they were over at *NEW* Kanger SSOCC Coils (Subtank Nebox) - Kanger Coils - Kangertech - Tanks & Coils last time I checked. So what exactly are the main differences between these Kanger Clapton coils and their OCC's again? If they are juice hogs, hopefully I can find them at one of my B&M's that will let me just try out one.

What are the major differences exactly? Using more juice and better vapor?
The SSOCC's are Stainless Steel, single wire for using with TC mods. The Claptons use a core wire wrapped with a smaller gauge wire to add surface area and thermal mass so you can get a small, low-resistance coil that can take a lot of power and generate a lot of vapor.

Thanks for the explanation. It seems as if the Clapton is really geared towards vapor production. I'm going to see if one of my B&M stores out here can start carrying them because they sell single coils from just about every other manufacturer there is over there.

Wish you luck. :) I have a devil of a time finding some of the standard Kanger coils at the local B&M's, so I've taken to purchasing them online. Saves some money that way when I lump them with other stuff I'm ordering.

So I am assuming that the Claptons are kanthal and fine for VV mode?

Yeah... sucks.
it's the body of the coil head that's SS, not the coil.

Check the descriptions at Sweet-Vapes and presumably KTech themselves.

:(
Well, it appears you are correct - the BODY is SS. The wire, not.
"What made the Kanger Nebox even more fascinating is the introducing of its all new SSOCC Replacement Coil Heads, which Kanger has offered in multiple resistances and wire types. With the new replacements, you’ll have the ability to use the SSOCC using Kanthal wire in 0.5 ohm and the ability to use Clapton wire in 0.5 ohm resistance, which has the Clapton style wrap on the center 3 rings of the coil. Both replacement coil head options have a stainless steel body, while the coil itself utilizes Japanese organic cotton for an absolutely incredible taste and consistent wicking. What’s even better is that not only does this 5-Pack of SSOCC Atomizer Heads work with the latest Kanger Nebox, but it’s also compatible with the whole Kanger SubTank Series."

I haven't tried the claptons yet, but I just purchased the kanger NEBOX, which comes with the red SSOCC, was blowup away by it. I have purchased a ton of diff devices, from expensive to cheap, and never found one I really liked, until this one. in fact, I loved it so much I bought another the day after I used the first. Then Sat. Morn. I ordered my 3rd n 4th (I vape sev. diff. juices at a time). The coils give the best flavor ever, along with a bunch of vapor. I've also tried the blue labeled cools and there isn't much of a difference between those and the red, imo. If anyone is interested in trying the NEBOX, myvaporstore.com has the black and white on sale for around $40.00. At least they did on sat. when I bought them. That's a really good price, if you check them out on the kanger website they are over $30 more. Anyway, I know that wasn't really your question but I wanted to give my thoughts on the SSOCC and to let people know how great the new Kanger box is.

I ended up buying two Aspire Cleito tanks, immediately after trying them in vape shop. Kanger subtank nano compared to a Cleito is like an EVOD in comparison to the nautilus mini. Better flavour, by FAR and much better airflow. And did I mention the flavour is better. It's on par with dripping... Literally liquids taste flat in a nano now compared to the Cleito. My nano is relegated to my tobacco liquid only now as a more discreet (cleito chucks out 2 or 3 times as much vapour even at 40W) tootle puffer sort of vape for on trains or in public indoor areas... Cleitos will vape MAX VG like it's 50/50 in a subtank, well better even. Conversely I had to add distilled water to my MAX VG liquid in a subtank nano. Cleito doesn't struggle with it in the slightest. And the taste, wow.

i have the Kanger subox mini and just ordered and received some Kanger 0.5ohm Clapton coils. I put one in my tank and it seemed a little hard to get it screwed down but it did go in. Filled the tank, primed the coil and fired it up. Problem/concern #1- seems like it takes several seconds of inhaling before it actually starts to Vape and problem/concern #2- the Omhs on the digital readout fluctuate from 0.5-0.6 when I hit the fire button to make the readout light up. What's up with all that?? Anyone have any advice or having the same problem??

I just bought a pack of Kanger Clapton's and found the same thing. Felt like a delayed start at each charge...and that's how I ended up on this thread.

My eLeaf TC40W won't let me go up to attempt higher wattages beyond 40W...I had one SSOCC left so switched back to using that at 28-30 with normal results for that juice. 75VG/25PG in a Kanger Subtank Mini.

Suppose I can try them down the road when I get a newer unit that has higher power potential, but for now I think these are not viable. Also not sure that vaping this juice at higher wattage is going to taste right...guess I will have to see the results specific to the Clapton when possible.

Unless I just have a bum coil out of the pack....hmm...I'll try another.

I like the Kanger tanks, but will check out the Atom coils based on the trail also.

Cheers!
