Just bought the mini tank and having an issue not sure what the problem is..

I took out the pre-made atomizer and through in the rebuilable one that had a coil already built in it of .6 ohms. I installed the cotton that the tank came with, Made sure it wasn't blocking the tiny juice holes in the bottom of the well (deck?).

I'm vaping it at about 15W right now but if I take more than 2 hits in about 5 minutes i'm getting burnt liquid pretty bad. My friend has an Arctic RTA and is vaping his at 45W with the same Sig 150w as me. Whats going on?

Currently rebuilding the coil to a 24g, 4 wrap with my own ... cotton to hope for different results.

Sorry, this is the Subtank you're talking about right ?.

I'll cut a strip off a cotton pad about 4 mm wide. I'll roll the end and thread it through. I get some resistance and without having to twist it will go in without any real problem (Maybe twist it a little bit). If it's too tight i'll throw the cotton in the bin and cut a strip a little thinner. Once that's done, and before screwing on the barrel, I'll trim the wick down whilst still leaving it too long then offer up the barrel to see how much more wick i need to snip off (Just slide the barrel down to the thread and see how much cotton pokes out). Usually it's only about a milimetre or so. I find it's easier to do it this way rather than screwing on the barrel then cutting the cotton down then tucking it in because it never goes in neatly and i always think it's too tight. Cutting the cotton to size before screwing on the barrel means i know for sure that once i fire it up i'll have no issues with wicking.

24 awg is too thick. It takes too long to heat up, and cool down incidentally ! (which explains why it's burning the cotton). What's ideal on a Subtank RBA is 25awg even 26 works almost as well but with 5 wraps of 26 you'll get about 0.6 - 0.7ohm's whereas the 25awg with 5 wraps comes in at 0.5 ohm's.

25 watts. that's all i ever cook it up at on the Subtank. At the moment i'm using 26awg and have an ohm's reading of 0.7ohm's with a 2.5mm id, five wraps, on one and 0.8ohm's 2.5mm id, five wraps, on another.

Edit : You are priming the wick and coil before putting the whole thing back together ?.
