KangerTech NEBOX

I've been pretty happy with my Nebox - I've purchased a second. I've had zero issues with leaking and in terms of design, I love how compact it is and the tank capacity, although I'm feeling that ALL tanks really need to evolve into top-fill designs.

I like the SSOCC Ni200 coil; much better performance than the OCC Ni200 coils, both vertical and horizontal. Just pop it in and it works well, tastes good, and requires little fiddling to get it going right.

My issue is with the RBA. I have been trying over and over to get a titanium coil working, and it just won't do it. I obviously set the unit to Titanium TC, but it's impossible to find a working wattage/temp setting. It either will barely fire, or it'll go nuts and fire much hotter than the temp I have it set at. my coils are 24 gauge grade 1 Ti and have been coming in at .15~.18 ohms.

I've ruled out the RBA as the issue; I have a Subtank that I'm running on an IPV4 D2 mod, and the titanium coil in that RBA has been running wonderfully.

It's almost as if the Nebox just can't handle titanium, even when set to it.

I'm using a heavy VG juice (Epiclouds Strawberry Circus). Again, I don't think it's the RBA (coil or the wicking) because it's working so well in my Subtank, driven by a non-Kanger mod.

ETA: ok, read the whole damned thread. Some of the ohm readings on "new coils" is just crazy off. that being said, the RBA Ti builds I did came out pretty close - my ohm reader said .15, the Nebox said .17.

I wonder if it'll handle Ti better at a higher resistance, or if it'll be worse. I'll give it a whirl...

Glad you having some luck with yours apart from ti mode. I've taken to using it strictly as a variable wattage device as I can't trust temp control. I've not tried ni200 in the rba but the ti is way off the mark even though as you say I get the resistance to read more accurately on the rba. I can use ti but could not get a consistent vape off of it as its starts "rattlesnaking" and don't even think about letting it run dry, unless you like fireworks! ;)

I still cant understand why they havent been recalled due to that dry coil/no temp protection issue.....really KangerTech is only giving the anti-vaping mob a free goal on safety issues with the nebox

Well they really are asking for trouble by ignoring this. Over on the Kanger forum I posted with Tpat591 and I stated genuine safety concerns I had and next day the domain dissappeared!!

nope, can't get Ti coils to work at all. The mod either won't give enough power to fire the coil....then bump it one degree or 0.1 watts, and then it's like a runaway train with power, billowing with steamy hot vapor. I've never held the button long enough to find out where THAT will end up. Something like this can be fixed with a firmware update but....not sure if the Nebox is capable of it through the micro USB.

At least I was able to finally find packs of the new cylindrical Ni200 SSOCC coils and lay in a supply. Other than displaying a ridiculously inaccurate ohm reading (around 0.3ohms), and setting the temperature nowhere near where I'd set it on a accurately calibrated mod, the TC works very well in keeping it consistent.

It's compact, holds a ton of juice, and I really hope there are further developments in the all-in-one box design field. It has frustrating flaws - the first one I bought, I killed. As in, I took a hammer to it and beat it into a pulp. But it brings out the flavor in my favorite juice better than anything else I own, so that's why I replaced the one I destroyed, and bought another on top of that.

btw, anyone worried about the tank breaking if you drop it - I wouldn't sweat it. That juice tank only started leaking after about the 15th hammer blow.....

Nebox usb only has +/- wires for charging. In its current Config it cannot update firmware via usb & probably never will. I was able to vape Ti under TC with widly inaccurate settings but stably so long as the tank didn't go dry. Tried 3ml of apple cinnamon juice in the tank and apparently it was a cracker as it frosted up my entire tank so I cannot see the juice level any more.

Tempted to use a hammer myself.

This brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "torture testing" :D. I've given it a miss now with any temp coils as I can't get it to play nice even with ni200 it starts rattlesnaking after a little use but the clapton I have in the rba works well so guess it's time to wait for v2! I've asked but there is definately no firmware upgradability on this mod so what we got is what we got which is a shame. I would like to know what Kanger have changed if anything to there board for the new top box nano and the kbox 200 to improve stability in tc.

Shame ain't it, so much promise but to many disappointments. Hopefully someone at some point will combine all the things we like and want from an all in one before they drop the hammer on the vaping industry.

I found the secret to controlling the rattlesnaking is to lower the wattage enough that the initial preheat does not overshoot coil set temp. Stabilizes temperature control quite a bit. Found with my Ti builds that if I push 50w instead of 60w it makes a world of difference. Stock coils I push 40w-45w.

Yes no firmware updates for this or any Kanger product for a while I believe. Also looking forward to see if they have corrected it in the upcoming releases. Dainel DJLSB Vapes has sworn to slam them if they release another malfunctioning TC product and told them as much, so hopefully they will get it right this time.

I'm getting worried they won't get the perfect all in one working TC device done in time as well. Joyetech in my opinion has all they need to make it happen but that Egrip VT was a step in the wrong direction. They need a full size Evic Control Panel powered TC all in one with replaceable 18650, 10ml capacity and full size replaceable RBA Decks for single, dual, and velocity style decks as well as CL/CLR stock coils to compete directly with Nebox. We know they can make that one work.

Everyone should join in lobbying them to make this happen if we hope to be able to buy them before the bans/regulations come into effect.

Is Kanger's forums back up anywhere cos I still can't find it. I did leave some comments on the Kangeronline page under the nebox.

eGrip VT Launching
Above is a link to a post on Joyetech's forum for the Egrip VT launch in which I again press for Egrip Mega VTC to be marketed.

If anyone agrees with the concept, feel free to register and express your opinion on a design you would like to see.

Ah no, Joyetech can fall off the face of the earth as they don't warranty their products.

So I just picked up one of these NEBOX's after joyetech refused to honor the warranty on my Ego One mega. I've only got to try it for 30 minutes or so, but so far its not bad. It hasn't leaked yet so that is a plus, but its quite powerful. Right now I'm at 40W and 300F in temperature mode. Is that lower than most of you use? I'm thinking I can go even lower in temperature, I'm trying to stay at the 40W because I"m planning to get an Istick TC40W as a backup and that stays at 40W.

Mate just be wary of this mod in tc mode, back read a little and all become clear. Depends on the wire your using how stable it is but personally I wouldn't recommend using titanium with it after my mishaps. Under no circumstances allow the tank to run dry as it just keeps on burning!

Thank you for the warning, I am not using titanium and probably never will. I am having a problem with the temperature control though. I'm sure its my fault, but I have it set on 40W and 325F and sometimes it fires and other times I hit the button and its just like its barely firing at all and when it does that it leaks out the bottom. Am I doing something wrong here? Been vaping 5 years but this is my first try at TC. When it does the barely firing thing I notice the watts only seem to go up to like 13 Watts before it hits temp protect. Do I need to raise the temperature?

No not your fault at all its the device. I'm usually around the 230°c/450°F but had to lower to 25watts at 165°c to get a comfortable vape and then it would sometimes muss fire and get nothing. As far as tc goes get a evic vtc mini as the nebox is a fail. I only use mine in power mode which is a disappointment as wanted a tc mod all in one for work. Guess I will wait for v2!
