I just received one from my girlfriend for Christmas. It has TC modes for both NI200, TI, and pure Wattage mode. You can set the wattage and then switch back to TC mode for either coil type. I don't actually know how to optimize this yet, but it seems pretty nifty to me. I need to study up on the mod to better understand how using both VW and TC work together though lol.
Side note- the battery included in the starter kit is a Samsung INR18650-25R. Looks legit, 3 pronged positive terminal, color/size and everything seems legit... But they took 12+ hours to charge and drain in less than a day at only 13 to 21 Watts on a 0.46 Ohm coil. I don't know if they were just damaged by the cold, being shipped in December, or if it's just a defective one, which I hear isn't too uncommon even from reputable makers such as Samsung and Sony.

1) Never vape a Ti or Ni200 coil in Standard Wattage mode! I am not trying to insult you, just covering the bases.
2) I am not aware of a battery ever being included in the starter kit and it was probably added afterward by the retailer when your GF bought it.
3) Be very careful in TC not to let your Tank empty. While Kanger may have since corrected the issues, there were some pretty serious TC problems in Nebox when they first hit the market and temp control was all over the map. If you let the Tank run empty it may be possible to torch your cotton in the coil or even your coil itself!
4) Any 18650 will be pretty much shot after a day of vaping on this unit and you will be hard pressed to find a battery that will outlast a 10ml tank of ejuice.
5) It is a great form factor and those of us who received malfunctioning units still use them carefully because they are better in their class than anything else out there right now.

Emailed Andy from Breazy middle of last week and asked him for the warranty replacement of my Black Nebox that was all over the map with TC that I began reporting issues with to him since the 2nd week in November. Andy just told me to get a tracking number and mail it back to him. He said he would tell his warehouse manager to ship my replacement unit out as soon as they received my RMA unit. He was very accommodating!
I may have pushed too far in requesting he send me a blue one as the replacement when I emailed him my tracking number but we shall see.

Received the White Nebox from 3FVape and Andy sent me my tracking number for my replacement from Breazy. Was strangely excited when the package arrived today that I would have the whole original colorway set and don't you know they sent me another black instead of the blue! Now its two blacks a red & a white. Gonna have to get a skin I guess. Disappointed.
It was time for a rebuild so I figured it was time to test the temp control. I can confirm my nebox does not control temp correctly in Ti mode. Burnt the cotton in half. It is reading coil resistance correctly so it has to be firmware issue.
Kanger needs to recall these. The average vapor will not have a clue the temp control doesn't work properly.
Told ya! You just didn't want to believe us! Same goes for Ni200 mode.
Damn Things are dangerous for someone who is not properly cautioned and Kanger does nothing about it, Refuses to acknowledge it, and care nothing about how their irresponsible behavior can damage the availability of vaping product to the community if the Anti Vaping Coalitions and legislators get a hold of this information.
You think they would acknowledge it, then quietly swap them out. I told Busardo about it and asked him to talk to his contacts and force a fix/swap out before Kanger damages the industry irreparably.
I believed those that said it wasn't operating properly. I thought maybe they quietly fixed it and mine was working correctly since I could hold the fire button and it seemed to be controlling temp. I not once singed the cotton by doing this when a mod in wattage mod would burn it. Seems like it is controlling temp somewhat when wet but certainly not correctly as it will burn it when dry.
Did yours come with the plastic disk coin tool in the starter kit to remove coil & battery cover?
both my new black ones (1)xmas gift, (1)warranty replacement came with it. Just a plastic disk with the logo on one side & kanger on other and a hole to mount on your keys. I'm figuring the ones that have the disc in the starter kit are the newest batches.
So Kanger Tech has a forum of their own. Those who have problems etc can post threads but all threads need moderator approval. I started one Thursday just before I posted here about my issues. The thread never was approved. I take this as Kanger knows the temp control isn't working and refuse to even admit it nor allow it to be discussed on their forums.
Well guys and gals just watched Busardo do a review on the kbox mini top box and it would appear going by the numbers that the board has been revised since they released the nebox. TC seems to work all fine and dandy (still no firmware upgradability ). Looks like the nebox owners were the beta testers 
. Annoyed as it fitted the bill perfect for work but I've resigned mine to the draw now as it's stopped reading even the kanthal coils correctly. On the plus side got 2 more vtc mini's on the cheap and the missus got me a belt holster so no worries about crushing tanks in my pocket on site anymore.
