I've been pressing my vendor to get answers from kanger as to what's going on but it ain't gonna happen. Think my second unit is going back for a refund until there is a working version available.
Yeah, same here. Breazy never replied to any of my emails with any answers from Kangertech despite them swearing they have forwarded all info over to them.

Have you tried contacting Kangertech directly besides your posts that will probably never even appear on the Kanger forum thread I started?

I emailed there customer support and in jumbled pigeon English they told me to contact my vendor. I might fire off another email next week I've just been to busy this week to keep chasing people. If anybody has any suggestions or a name at kangertech I'm open to suggestions.

Same here. Thinking it is time to start following up directly with them as well. Can't believe how quiet everything about a fix on this mod is. They must have some kind of gag order out there!

I saw GrimmGreen mention in a youtube comment that his Nebox started to leak badly. I have my Nebox on the way since I got it for so cheap, but it's pretty much curiosity at this point. More for science than any expectation that it'll work.

And ya, I was really hoping Joytech would save us all. What a bummer.

Trust me leaking will be the least of your issues with this unit. Two unit in operation and haven't had a drop leak from ssoccs, square ni200 occs, or the RBA at all. Absolutely blows Egrip and Evic VTC w/ Ego One Mega Tank out of the water with airflow/vape delivery, but it will never touch the flavor Egrip delivered with the RBA. TC can be managed but is not to be trusted. Where did you pick it up and how good was the deal?

I really had to stop myself from ordering 2 more during the VapeNW 20% on 20% for a total of 36% off Thanksgiving deal. Would have got them for $36 a piece but I just couldn't justify ordering 2 more units that just couldn't be relied on to perform TC properly. I consoled myself with a Wismec Reuleaux DNA200 but, If they had Blue & White in stock I would have ordered them anyway!

Joyetech's announcement was indeed heartbreaking! I only hope they will listen to feedback eventually and incorporate the Evic VTC Panel w/ a 10ml tank without Monkey .... silicone caps on the coils.

The only contact for kangertech that I can find is service@kangeronline.com. is that right address cos I'm gonna start spamming them!o_O

You reckon they even look at social media at joyetech? Couldn't help venting and another thing that removable chimney I can only assume equalls more silicone seals which in turn means more monkey ....:).

An update- mine arrived today. I'm actually surprised at how decent it is so far. Even after watching endless reviews....this little guy is even smaller than I thought.

I'm using the new SSOCC 1.2 coil and am only doing wattage mode. I don't like temp control, and I figure why bother with this. So far so good..ish. No leaking yet, but probably too early to say. I only filled it up half way just in case. And with this 1.2, I don't find myself needing an airflow control, which is surprising. I guess the coil sort of takes care of it and it seems to give the right amount that I expected.

The flavor is pretty eh. Not great, but it does the job. I heard someone mention a plastic taste, which may have something to do with it. It sounds like a gurgly mess down inside, but at least no spitting so far. I really do love the form factor....if they can fix this huge list of issues, this could be an amazing device.

As it is- I'd recommend as a vape toy basically. It's fun, it's cool, but I can't imagine this being a single device for anyone.

Happy to hear you are enjoying the device! I remember being so relieved when I first opened mine at how much smaller it was in person than these things always look in the videos. Perfect size in my opinion. Fits the hand just right and I swear Egrip darn near weighs the same as this. Exageration I know, but I can't shake the feeling.

You were so worried about the airflow! Glad you like it. Knew you would adapt quickly to a larger airflow. If you do still feel the need to cut that back a bit, the older Occ coils have a slightly more restrictive delivery. As Bru2basics & I stated earlier it chucks vapor but will never give that concentrated flavor the old RBA did with Egrip. Flavor just seems muted and Especially in the beginning it does have a little plastic quality to it.

Nebox can chuck clouds though and has much better crisper flavor with a good Ti-T1 build in the RBA and many are raving about those Kanthal Gold Clapton Coils they were selling at Ecig.com (for 12.99 as part of their Black Friday sale that should still be on - ordered a 5pk, but haven't tried them yet). I don't really think there is a huge list of issues if you don't like temperature control other than button rattle, screen & navigation and kind of a cheap toy like feel to the device.

I consider it a great device for the work site, or an on the go device where you know you can knock it around a bit without worrying about breaking it. Pockets well and has the capacity to go all day. Bring a spare battery & a bottle of juice & it will go a lot longer.

Biggest issue is reliability in Temperature Control, misreading of base resistance, longer preheat than expected, occasional delayed firing, Hotter than expected/set temperatures and possibility of torching cotton & even the coils if you let your tank get dry. That is a huge issue in a temperature controlled mod and I urge anyone getting one to be very careful using the device in TC modes.

Funny you just beat me to it. I'm not a suspicious person but I wonder what's going on there! That's me done with this mod now, it's only usable in power mode and I've now discovered that changes in atmospheric temperature and pressure cause it to leak like a sieve. Honestly I think this mod takes 1st place for being a bag of crap!

Mine are charged via usb constantly and kept upright constantly and never had a drip or any oozing from the units what-so-ever with any stock coil or the RBA. I do make sure to vape off of it quickly after filling to establish the vacuum in the tank though. One of the few pluses and can credit to the unit is that mine never leaked at all, but I do not discount the experiences of others.

Yeah I've not had any leaks using the rba but I got fed up with the inconsistency in tc so I chucked the ssocc .5 ohm coil in this morning and to be honest is not a bad vape in power mode. Annoyingly I had a long drive this morning and had the heaters on so it was warm in the car and after about an hour it leaked a load into the door pocket. I thought I'd not screwed down coil tight enough so i stopped cleaned it up and put it back together but it did it again. I charged It this afternoon and it was worryingly hot after ten minutes and juice poured out again, do all yours get hot when charging? What makes me laugh is that I charge my egrips upright on the edge of a shelf and they never gets hot or leaks.

Kanger either machines the grooves for the o-rings too deep or assembled with o-rings that were too small on the early ssoccs as verified by a few different reviewers. Supposedly fixed in production now but kanger is telling people with leaking issues to use the old square occs and it is solving the leaks. Maybe you can just change the o-rings from one.

The problem as I understand it is not that the o-ring lets juice leak by but that they cannot stop air from being drawn into to vacuum of the tank, which in turn floods the coil when the vacuum is compromised and leaks out the center hole.

All depends on how low my 18650 is as far as hot it will get. Never charged an 18650 without them warming up so I just consider that normal behavior, especially if they are rapid-charged with a 1a-2a charger rather than the 0.5a of a computers USB port (which is what I use). Makes sense that thermal expansion of the fluid in the tank will cause leaks if not actively consuming that fluid by vaping so I get it, just never happened to me.

Bru2basics I really thought they added a second air intake hole near the atty base, upsized the chimney, and eliminated that silicone top cap in the new Egrip VT from looking at the disassembly diagram but according to this first look:

They may have upsized the chimney ID a tiny bit, but even that looks somewhat doubtful.

Crying shame they just don't understand.

Ok didn't know about the o rings. I might try changing some off the square coils I got see if it help. To be fair I chucked the occ in this morning because I was late and didn't have time to rebuild the rba with kanthal. I may keep it and just use it in power mode but that's not really my thing since I've found the benefits of tc.
I normally charge all my 18650 in a nitecore in pairs and that only runs at .5 amp so never experienced hot mods. When I say hot, it was to hot to comfortably hold for long period!?

Nice find mate but I'm afraid our worst fears are confirmed, more monkey .... silicone!!
They even include an extra bag of them!.

It's exactly the same as the non vt except they have threaded the chimney section into the top plate instead of the press fit on original. I can't fathom why they would address the one issue that was never an issue (is it really that difficult to wash the tank out!!) and leave the glaringly obvious. I get its ment to be a compact device but the battery needs to be bigger or swappable, I can live with all the other failings.
