Ok didn't know about the o rings. I might try changing some off the square coils I got see if it help. To be fair I chucked the occ in this morning because I was late and didn't have time to rebuild the rba with kanthal. I may keep it and just use it in power mode but that's not really my thing since I've found the benefits of tc.
I normally charge all my 18650 in a nitecore in pairs and that only runs at .5 amp so never experienced hot mods. When I say hot, it was to hot to comfortably hold for long period!?
Mine get noticeably warm, sometimes surprisingly so when the battery is very low - but never so hot as to be uncomfortable to hold. Again, I charge off computer at 0.5a. If you used a power adapter, some USB3(4) ports or an IPhone charger that ran at twice that rate it can certainly explain what you are describing.

Nice find mate but I'm afraid our worst fears are confirmed, more monkey .... silicone!!
They even include an extra bag of them!.

It's exactly the same as the non vt except they have threaded the chimney section into the top plate instead of the press fit on original. I can't fathom why they would address the one issue that was never an issue (is it really that difficult to wash the tank out!!) and leave the glaringly obvious. I get its ment to be a compact device but the battery needs to be bigger or swappable, I can live with all the other failings.
I don't know what to say, but I have personally been Lobbying Joyetech to combine Egrip with the Evic VTC control Panel since the first week of September (and prior to that it was Waidea and Yiloong back in May of 2015 to build a TC Egip on Steroids). In (each of) the proposal(s) I laid out I stressed that I wanted them to build a tank that was easily cleanable and should be removable for cleaning so the electronics could not be damaged during cleaning. I also put forth the concept of modular design of components for easy adaptability to different vaping styles with different attys/decks/chambers/chimneys which could be used within the same module.

I posted a summary of what I sent them here a week or so later: eVic-VT mini? (one night when I had a few too many) although I gave them a lot more detail of what I had in mind.

I'm certainly not saying they have any specific plan in mind here because they have never seen fit to follow up by contacting me to help move a design forward, but if they were to adopt a concept like the one I put forward to them for the Evic VTC, the first step toward removing the tank from the magnetic modular enclosure would be to employ a removable chimney (which would hold it in from the top and the atty base itself would hold it in from the bottom. Lets just say the removable chimney design they employed here is something I would consider a positive step forward and not just a dunzel part or upgrade.

Monkey .... however is a completely different story....

So Back to Nebox - My wicking in the black one was getting pretty played and I decided to try the Atom G Clapton 0.5 Ohm coils I ordered on Black Friday (Non-TC). They do deliver a nice full vape, but even at 12.99 for a 4pk that I got them for, I'm not sure they are really worth the cost. I like temp control and being able to apply higher wattage for a faster ramp to temp. That whole delay bothers me immensely. I don't think I'll be buying any more of these once the two packs I did buy are gone.

Yeah I agree the egrip vt is a step in the right direction but it's to little they needed a leap forward. As for claptons I love making them but ramp up time is the one draw back. I've found that the kanthal/titanium hybrid needs a lot of power and are quite slow but the pure ti claptons are much faster and great for tc.

Drysprocket - How goes it with Nebox?

shhh you'll jinx it ;)

Still rocking so far. No leaks yet, but I'm still only keep it half filled just in case.

I think because I watched so many youtube reviews...they sort of taught me how to use the battery door. It's actually not completely terrible once you figure out how to use the thing. I've been able to just use my fingers to get it open and closed pretty quickly so far. I think I would have stripped it though had I not watched so many trial and errors.

I think the taste is still lacking, but maybe those gclapton coils will be made with 1.2 or 1.5 eventually, and that would give me a better option.

So yeah, I'm just gonna walk on eggshells and keep enjoying this little thing.

You got in quite a bit later than us so I don't think you will have the o-ring thing. I didn't. Think most of first shipments went across the pond & that is why Bru2basics had issues.

Claptons at 1.2 or 1.5 might come, but I would be real surprised.

Enjoy & Rock On!

So Cal
I have the OCC claptons made for the Nebox (0.5 ohms), and they're certainly better than the other coils. The RDA in the nebox, though, is a dead loss to me, because the airflow is drastically reduced. I haven't even bothered to try the Ni200 coil given the apparent issues, although I suppose I eventually will.

My biggest disappointment is the lackluster performance of the RDA and its strangulated airflow, but on the whole this mod is fine as an improvement (slightly) over the egrips for out and about.

those eClaptons are the only coil I ever put in Nebox that it read the right resistance on!

Well looks like im keeping the nebox for the time being as the kanger claptons I ordered have turned up and I'm well impressed. Ok so temp mode is broken but it's a better mod than the egrip for work. I've not had a leak since I dumped the ssocc coil that came with it and put in a square vertical occ. Must have been from the first batch as you said Tpat591 which were bad. I'm quite happy carrying a spare battery now as I've mastered the battery cap just using my thumb so no tools needed and better that than risking a big spill. Gonna see if I can rebuild these clapton heads as Amanda said I'm not a fan of the airflow on the rba either but I may just try drilling out the rba base to improve that. Here I go with the power tools again!:D.

Make 100% sure coil is in tight - had serious issues with tc due to loose preinstalled coil

try old square coils or use orings from one on the one you have,

Know kanger had coils leaking due to bad orings on these but don't know if it was orings or mis-manufactured grooves on some.
well i'm getting the leaks from both rba and the occ coil that was supplied---this sucks

I bought my pack of coils from sweet vapes- I think it's been confirmed that the problems were with the ones shipped. I would buy a new pack to see if that fixes it. My condolences though. In every other alternate reality...I'm right there with you. I just got lucky.
