Yea, I've heard those Kayfuns can require some patience.

Yep. I would have to agree. Now the question is do i get a second one, a vaporfi, or wait for the next great tank to come out? I'd love to see the mini with a 5-5.5 ml capacity.....I know there's the original subtank but i've heard there are some significant differences and that the mini is way better. I'd say it's a good predicament to have!

If you like to build it's a no brainer :p
The sub tank mini and the new sub tank plus are far superior to the og sub tank full in regards to the rba section

Aww, yeah. Just put the slotted RBA head in the STmini base with the larger airflow slot, and it does indeed improve the airflow even further. Working great with this nickel build.

Does it quiet it down any? I've been considering enlarging/chamfering the 4 holes, just to kill the turbulent airflow and resume effective stealth vaping.

The subtank plus rba deck is better than the original subtank? The original rba deck has an airflow worse than some of the regular vape tanks I was using before going sub ohm.

Not really, still loud as ever.

Yes, its like the STmini now, same airflow, no changing the chimney.

Still on the bus :) both horizontal and vertical coils rocking with about 1 week between re-wicking either way, only real difference I get is the vertical coil tends to wick better, but they are both really good when properly wicked...

I lost my backup iStick 50W and STMini dropping off my daughter at the theatre the other day, must have fell out of my pocket when I wasn't looking... must be why I have backups :)

Still have a Delta II as a backup which has thoroughly turned me off after finding out that even though the unit is built from SS and Glass, the RBA is chromed bass... Although I like some things about the Delta II and it works very well, I can taste that chromed RBA, reminds me of the funky flavor I got from an old mini DID clone back in the day...

It is actually kinda funny that when I first started vaping bought some honey flavor from a local place, I vaped all day for a very long time, with no issues. Then all of a sudden after months I lost the taste. Then in no time I was back to smoking.
I have watched many videos and read through the thread RBA builds? show them, and it was great. I had not ordered any Kanthal wire, but did late last night. Now I just need to figure out why all the different builds. Standard, micro, nano, Clapton, Tiger tail, chainlink, braided and many more, makes my head spin.
I do thank you for the advice, it is much appreciated. So much to learn and crossing my fingers that it will be worth it in the long run.
Hey buddy. For the STmini just use a simple 5 wrap spaced or microcoil. At most using twisted wire. That's all you need for a fantastic vape.

Still rocking my STM RBA every day all day. Don't even bother with my Kayfuns or Orchids anymore. The flavor is impressive for a sub-ohm tank, certainly better than my Orchids (and close to the KFL). I am using a twisted 28ga, 2.4mm ID, 0.6 ohm build with KGD cotton and it's near flawless.

I thought about getting a Lemo 2, but considering you cannot get at your build until you drain the juice, no thanks. Got so tired of that with my KFL/Orchids. I like how I can access my build with the STM at any time and taking the tank off to fill it isn't that big a deal for me.

I definitely will start out very simple. The braided looks so cool and fun to make.
I am a bit concerned with the fact that almost all my juices are 18-24, and so many have cut back drastically on the nic level. So with that said, what do most people start out with, the RBA or OCC? And what did you try your first settings on?

On a sub tank, that level of Nic will most definitely be too high, occ OR rba. I was vaping around the same level in my kayfun lite and aerotanks..... Had to drop to 6 on my sub tanks.
I started out on the occ coils.... Cause they were ready, and I was impatient :p, but in the sub tank mini, I don't think anything beats this Clapton coil for awesome flavor

have a bottle of blueberry that is 12, will have to dig it out. Love the flavor, but the nic level was just not high enough. Guess will not have that problem. Good point on the OCC about being impatient. :/

Nice looking coil,

Any chance you can either link to a thread or give more info on how to build a coil like that as I am a flavour junky and I love the ST mini for flavour already but any tips on improving flavour would be great.

Thank you

There's numerous ways to accomplish it, the trick is finding the way to hold the wires while wrapping the outside wire that works the best for you... Make sure you have a fresh supply of wires when you start so you don't worry about mess ups as much :p
IMO, 32 gauge around 28 gauge is both the perfect size for a sub tank and the easiest sizes to learn on for this coil

IMO, the meme that you need to cut down your nic based on what atomizing device you are using is a fallacy. Use what you normally do post your results. I started out using the OCCs to gauge their performance and moved on to the RBA shortly afterwards.
