To push to 30W, you want to be in the 2.4-3mm ⌀ range. Good luck!
True, and to go above 35w you need to be on the largest afc setting. With the afc wide open I can chain vape at 45w with my build and chunky wicking using 60vg (with no mods) but the flavor is not as good there, a little warm too!

Wow, 7/64 drill bit!!! Thanks folks, sometimes you just have to put it down walk away, ask a question and start
Over again. LOL. been so use to building the orchid I never even tried going larger. Got it going much better with
A 7/64 drill bit 5 wraps came to 0.5 ohms and loads of occ stuff in it. It's one of those DUH!! moments..
30 watts chain vape NO burnt taste and flavor is returning...

Thanks!! DUH!

Right on! I love it when a plan comes together.

And the story continues..... Got thru about 1/2 the tank using the sigelei mini and its back to a burnt taste even at
17watts. Several more attempts at different wicking methods does not seem to help. Made sure the channels
Are not blocked with NO improvement. Beginning to think the juice channels are not open enough.

With no wick just the coil and with the cap off it sure looks like the kanger channels are really tiny and most
Of the channel is below the tank section. I normally don't have these issues but I am getting flustrated
With this bugger. Ive heard over and over it can produce flavor but I'm not there yet.....

Oh me.......

Flavor? I got a Kanger STM this week, after using it for a few days I have become a little frustrated with
the lack of flavor. Coming from a Orchid running dual 26g @ 0.6 ohm the flavor is awesome using a King
mech mod or a Sigelei Mini @ 25 or more watts. Using mech mod or a wattage mod with the Kanger makes
no difference in flavor. Higher wattage produces a burnt taste and lower wattage is better just no flavor.

I've built the Kanger STM's RBA using 26g @ 0.6 ohms. I get tons of vapor with the STM but NO flavor
at all and burnt taste at higher watts. I'm using 60VG/40PG juice and Japanese orginic cotton.

Anyone got a trick, tip or hint for improving flavor???
Show us your build maybe? With that we may be able to make suggestions

i have 2 stminis, one rba twisted 28awg 1.0ohm, the other single 26awg 1.3ohm, both are non contact. i vape 20-30mls/day 70vg juice
u probably know and tried this but i once cut the organic cotton to thin and had bad results.
my coil is about 2.5 to 3mm diameter and i cut my wick >3x wider than diameter and i remove both skins & ends thinned moderately, wick lasts for days at between 18-22w and hardly a dry hit(not burnt), depends on my chainvaping.
in fall/winter/colder weather i will widen the channels on one of them for outside use if i still have these.

With these sub tanks, in wicking, they tend to like more wick in the coil then we are accustomed to using with cotton. Pack your coil tighter, then thin out the tails by about 50% via diagonal cuts. 3mm ID is great in these tanks..... I'm using a first run STM, smallest of the juice channels, and have run 80/20 through it with no problem at 25 watts

One thing this subtank is going to make me do... I'll have to start producing my own e-liquids. Goodness, this tank goes through a huge amount of e-liquid. Normally my aerotank or nautilus and I can last on one tank fill up a week (yeah, I don't vape too much anymore), now with the same amount of vaping and I'm running through 15ml in a matter of just days.

As to the coils...

What is the diameter of the stock spare coils that Kanger provides in the RBA (and one extra in a baggy), and what gauge wire are they using?

I think I may have bought the wrong wire as I bought the 28 Gauge and now I'm seeing most people suggest using 26 gauge....

Ok, try these things out... Lift your coil a bit (I keep my legs and bottom of coil level...
83208587d8caa97bc4d19a6246f651b6.jpg

Then rewick, packing the coil tighter then you did, and thin out those tails by half... If that doesn't do it, try doing the same coil but spaced (finding a screw of the right diameter works great for this).
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

26 gauge is ideal for the sub tank IMO, but 28 is fine

Ill give that a try. Have to run out for a bit on errands but I'll followup once I get back and
made the changes. I sure get a load of vapor just chasing the flavor... Tank is so easy to
work with compared to my Orchid..

I'll be bak....!

just got my mini today- love it, running it on a 18350 mech mod with the 1.2ohm coils- I heard this beast is a juice hog, should not be a problem due to making my own juice. I did replace the stock drip tip with a clear glass with stainless base drip tip.
This thing hits like a champ.
Kanger for the win again!

Oh me.......

As others here have mentioned, the bottom of the coil should be even with posts. It is also out of symmetry (skewed), which causes too many problems to mention. Your coil turns are showing the results of bad symmetry in your pics, uneven heating, as indicated by the variances in wire color from turn to turn of your coil. If your rig was rockin' for a while and then started to go burny on ya...you're underwicked as well. Also, wick tail thinning should not be "required" to run this rba at 25w with 60vg juice....

Not trying to be critical here tencars. To get a decent vape many things can be less than perfect but to get stellar flavor and push the limits of these devices things need to be spot on....or as near as possible.

Seems I have it running better. Coiled it on 2.5 with 26g, ohms out at 0.7. Very heavy on the cotton making
Sure juice channels stay open. Every time I vape I can see air bubbles come up, I assume that means the
Juice is flowing. ☺. Spaced the coil wraps out and made sure the legs were even.

Flavor has improved with no burn taste at 22.5 watts. We'll see how it goes but so far so good.

Thanks for all the help!
