On the rba, is the chimney cap supposed to have an o-ring, or is just metal to metal to the chimney?
do u mean this part of the chimney, yes it has a seal.

Pretty sure they were asking about the chimney cap to lower chimney tube junction. Without the cap seal (your pic) the tank would dump the juice as soon as they flipped it over after filling. If I remember correctly they said it didn't leak until the juice got down to the area of the cap.

That's been my case so far cigatron, so far anyway, if I keep the fluid level above the knurled top there, I haven't had any leaks. I haven't changed out that seal yet, as I like to do one thing at a time, then when the leaks stop, I know what stopped it. :)

One change at a time...good call. When the chimney cap is screwed onto the chimney tube does it look like it is seated together all the way around? No gaps between the metal surfaces? Do both the mating surfaces look smooth? No bumps or humps of metal protruding from either part?

Essentially kanger is relying on those two mating surfaces to make a liquid and airtight seal.

You could suck test it!!!!......lol. Screw the two parts together, firmly press a wetted finger/thumb on the cap hole, suck a mouth vacuum on the chimney tube end and seal it off with your tongue. Should hold a vacuum for at least 30sec with no pressure loss......sorry, don't know how to describe suck testing any cleaner...lol

If it passes the suck test the problem is the chimney cap seal or the upper chimney tube where it makes contact with the chimney cap seal.

Mine leaked from the bottom seal the first day (just a few drops here and there). I took everything apart and reseated all the o-rings. No more leaking. I think a lot of the people who complain about leaking are just doing it wrong, tbh.

I was not "complaining" but merely backing up another statement that mine too leaked from the air holes. All I had done was firmly screw In an occ coil, fill with juice, and screw on base. After I put it down for a few days, I came back to juice leaking all down the side of my mod via the air holes.

Thanks everyone for your tips :) hope to be enjoying sub ohm vaping here soon!

dont think any1 would blame u if u were complaining, i would be perturbed if it happened to me, we/i are trying to nail down why and where its leaking from, why, knowledge so we can pass it on to someone else.

Sorry, I had just gotten off a long night at work and suppose I was grumpy lol! Anyway, I did check and all o rings seem snug. I'm going to try the rba head as soon as I can get some 3mg juice and I will report back!

I've got a slow leak at the bottom seal on my stm. I'm putting the tank on pretty tight and it shouldn't be leaking...

In an attempt to fix, I used the replacement o-ring that came with it and it still leaks!

I'm gonna give the colored stm O-rings a try in case they revised the design.

I had that problem with my full size subtank, solved it by turning the glass tank over, wouldn't think it would matter, but seems I put it on the opposite way when I cleaned it.

Does a regular 510 drip tip fit in a Subtank Mini? Does it have to be wide bore (and if it doesn't have to be do you personally recommend it)?

I'm going to order my first Subtank Mini tomorrow along with an IStick, and I was thinking about color-coordinating the whole thing (either blue or black with the IStick, O-Rings on STM, and drip tip).

Yes it takes a regular drip tip, and no doesn't have to wide bore, I have replaced both of mine, but they are still wide bore though.
