@ underwhelmd: It's rather circumstantial evidence, but (1) I've read a few more similar complaints in two non-English forums and (2) Kanger itself ditched the transparent insulators in favor of the tan ones. I assume it wasn't about aesthetics.
Matching my effort with yours.... It feels like 26.
This is a rather unfortunate predicament that I or we are in regarding the PEEK insulators. It seems as though the tan ones are the third revision, but those of us with the clear are now left to decide if it's worth trying it, or request a new one and wait for them to show up.
I am not sure what I want to do, as others have said if the insulator degrades the tank will taste like crap afterwards. But it could be good with no issues. Rather frustrating way to do business for a company as large as Kanger.

I say run the clear one, that's what I'm doing and no problems so far. I do only have about 4 tanks through the rba but I check the insulator every once in a while and it still looks good.
Officially Kanger says could fail with harsh juice. Pluid.
Here's mine after a week of solid use trying to make it fail with Cinnamon etc. So I'm calling shenanigans.

Let's set things straight.
The first iterations of the mini (call it beta version) were white, and nasty/faulty.
The second were transparent - and praised by Pumpkin Busardo as the real PEEK wonder insulator.
As life proved in very little time after, the lauded transparent ones were also crap.
Enter the third iteration: the tan/brownish insulators. Which are what Kangertech USA already provides for like 50 cents if one wants to buy them (also crap, but unly because they don't really fit the Mini well, only the original Subtank.
YUP. Read it. Also read that he said it was destroyed by heat, until he edited it in another thread.
Please do not put words in my mouth. I agreed with you originally that it could have been heat, and later said I do not know what could have caused it. I still do not know. All I know is it was not from user error or from the juice I used. Other than the clear insulators not holding up for some people, there are problems with some insulators having a gap between it and the positive post. The L portion of the insulators where they make contact with the positive post are very thin for an insulator. This could also have caused my issue, but I did not check my insulator before use other than to see if it was clear or white. I used my RBA as it came from the factory and I trusted my equipment would work correctly out of the box.
[edit] here is a picture of someone having the issue with the gap between the insulator and the post

I would appreciate if you would stop your consistent spreading of misinformation regarding this issue. I dont know what your agenda is, but it should be for the saftey of users and not for whatever personal gain you are achieving from this. Obviously the newest subtank minis are shipping with the tan insulators, so why have they upgraded the insulator material another time if no problems existed? It is because the clear ones have had serious quality control issues, and have caused problems for many users.
Looks like the newest brown peak ones to me, cant say for sure though. Could be the original white one and just discolored. How much have you used it already?
