Is it just me, or is the insulator on your first deck toast?

Sent from Doomite Central!
Clear insulator. Was prob seeing black from box or bad lighting.

Make sure the stem/positive pin at the bottom of the rba is seated tight into the the deck. I was getting fluctuating readings on the ohms, and "no atomizer" indicated on my mod, so I unscrewed the rba, stuck a small screw driver through the air holes on the stem and tightened real good. Problem solved.

The bottom part of RBA section is shorter than on the OCC coils, that is the issue. I have emailed Kanger regarding this, but nothing back yet.

Yeah I noticed that. In addition to tightening my bottom bit, I pushed the 510 connection inwards so there's a better connection to the rba deck. Solved it for me.

The channels look bigger too. Any way for you to measure the newer one? The channels on my earlier released rba are 1.2-1.3mm and go all the way through the rba flange as shown on the left one in your pic.
Well I only have my mm ruler but eyeballing my orginial is about what you said 1.2-1.3. The new one is looking to be about 1.5mm. Noticeably larger for sure

I posted on this several pages back, my first RBA had 1.3mm channels which I enlarged to 2mm and made them run the full height of the deck.
My new one the channels measure 1.5mm and already run the full height of the deck.

To those who are interested, about the new RBA channels,

Running 28g twisted kanthal, 5 wraps, 3mm ID at 50W fine on my brother's sigelei. Only got a burnt taste after 10mins constant chain vaping. Let it rest for awhile and it was fine. Checked my wicks and it was great.

On my RDNA40 at its max 40w, twisted 28g ni200, 5 wrap around 3mm, it vapes great too. No wicking issue. No burnt taste obviously as it is set to 410F.

I never had the old version before but I've absolutely no complaints about this RBA.

I can never seem to solve the spit back issue using the RBA. It isn't popping juice into my mouth, it isn't really popping at all, but I consistently am getting drops in my mouth. It isn't burning so it isn't coming directly off the coil. I have experienced juice popping straight off the coil and this definitely isn't that. It is more like excess juice, maybe from condensation getting sucked in on the inhale. Any else get this? If so, any magical fix?

    Yes, I'm getting hot spitback.
    More so with Ni200 builds.
I've started putting a 1/8" strip of KGD skin over the coil, wick to wick.
    It's helped somewhat........

Yea, I got it a lot more with my nickel builds as well, which has turned me off from using them with the STm. It isn't quite as bad with the kanthal coils, but happens enough to be annoying. I don't get it all with the OCC's.

Never gotten spitback on the STM RBA deck. I build standard 26ga single micro coils. I only vape at 20-25 watts, so maybe that's it.

I also build a 26g 5wrap 2.5mm ID spaced and I vape it at 26 to 28 watts. I have tried dialing back the power to 24, but it seems to happen more there. I will play with some different wicking and see if it helps.

For ni200 coils I had spitback my first time, used less cotton the next time and its been good.

With kanthal it seems to be the inverse for me, more cotton did the trick.

I constantly had juice up in my drip tip, but not in my mouth. I cleaned it out all the time. I got a Horizon Arctic 2 days ago and i don't have that problem with the same juice and i am loving the flavor at 28.5 watts using the single 0.5 ohm Bottom Turbine Coil [BTC] .. I don't think i will be using the Kanger Mini anymore, I just got tired of dry hits with it.

I gladly take in orphaned Subtank minis. ;) Glad to hear you're liking the Artic tank, those .2 ohm coils look insane.
