So I pucked up the Subtank mini along wirh an istick 50w. However, I am hearing this popping noise when i fire the sub with a .5 coil. My understanding is that you should not hear a pop. I did prime the coil i have started at low wattage...i just cant get rid of that pop when i first hit the fire button....any idea what might be happening?

There will be some popping but it shouldn't be super loud constant popping... If it is then either you need to turn your wattage down, your liquid has water in it, or if you're using the rba it could be a wick or coil problem.

If the popping isn't severe and not accompanied by juice spitting up into your mouth, it's not anything to worry about.

Edit, sorry saw you started with a low wattage. If you're not using the rba it's nothing to worry about but it most likely has something to do with your liquid (I find that thinner liquids especially with water pop more... Or perhaps you washed the tank out and a bit of water was still in there?) And it may just work itself out if you hit it a little bit more.

Coil might be flooded with juice. Crank it up a bit on wattage maybe, depends what you're at, I'd try 25-30w see if that helps.

If the popping is too much at say 30w, try blowing into the air intake for the equivalent of a couple puffs. Then try turn it back down to 22-25w and try again.

Well that's positve. When you begin vaping how low do you start 12, 15 etc.? Also I cleaned the tank with dish soap and hot water and then a very thorough rinse with hot water. I wonder if i screwed something up by doing that.

As long as it's primed, I start my vape at the same wattage I normally vape at.... Usually between 25-30 watts.
You wouldn't mess anything up washing it out that way.... Though you should be sure to dry it out well.
On a side note.... Don't throw those bad coils out.... They are really easy to rebuild :p

Not a RT fan but this rebuild video is less twitchier than most of his and it does look simple.

Everything in that video is good but for one thing.... The coils wick much better if you cut them just a hair longer then he did and poke them in to the holes (they end up looking like they did new that way)

Agreed. I'm pretty sure there's no harm in leaving them stick out but they look better pushed in.... I've been pretty much exclusively using the rba but those occs are decent and rebuild a lot easier than some prebuilts.
thats why i have 2 stmini's, im using the rba's but the diy options for these tanks is "awesome"
