Well guys, I am on tank #20 and am about to fill tank #21 on my kanger STM. Still has great flavor, and clouds.
without rewicking? don't you change the flavor?
one flavor would only last me for around 2 days then I need to change with something else...
I am planning to buy another tank though so the stm can use same liquid for longer period... i have Orchid but it is not reliable.

The coil looks splendid Phassat!! Nice!!!

The wicking, well, next time I rewick I'll take some pics to show you the chunky wick with 45° cut wick tails. The 45° angles that I cut on the wick tails look just like the left side of your wick in the first image of your "pic 4: wicking before and after" series. When the wick tails get bent downward to the juice well deck ALL of the wick tail fibers end up touching the juice well deck. That way all of the fibers are picking up juice instead of just the ones closest to the wall of the juice well. Hope that makes sense....my pics will help hopefully.

okay, will look forward for your pics... don't forget it the next you need to re-wick... you are using Japanese cotton as well right?

So take a look at this. The tank on the right I bought in Vegas 2 weeks ago and the tank on the left I bought yesterday at a local b&m. Notice any differences?View attachment 462603
These are both STM and there is no camera trickery. Photo was taken level so no angle difference and both were the same distance from the edge of my desk.

is it possible that one of them is fake? if you see the inner pipe that will slotted into the chimney, the edge shape is a little different.
there are some other differences too but I will need to scribble on the photos to point it out.

do both works okay?

Cigaton,

Are you using a coiling tool? I've not got one yet still using screw drivers and drill bits...

Yeah, I designed and fabbed up my own tension-winding coiling tool. I call it a cigamajig. Instructions for fab and use for version 1 are on my blog. I have a version 2 now where I can change winding mandrels from 1-3mm and also use screw mandrels for perfectly spaced coils. Both versions allow me to wind the wire directly from the wire spool onto the mandrel. "Turn the tool; not the wire".

Artisan wire gizmos, pin vises and Kuro koilers also do a good job of winding coils.

Good luck.

where can I see the tool? it would be awesome to have a perfect spaced coil out of a tool.

Sorry to hijack vin, but yes, the green line is very close to what I do for the 45° wick tails. Once the wick is bend down into the juice well at 90° pretty much all the cotton end fibers will be grazing the deck. Nice editing! Thanks. I won't be rewicking for a while, so hopeully that gets the point across.

my next rewick job im going to bend the wick down onto the deck(or slightly off to the side of deck) and cut the wick inline w/the deck horizontally. and i do thin out the ends and then i prime it(dry pulls) b4 vaping . will post pics when i do

The one on the left looks like it's about 2-3mm taller in the pic. If the tank is the same length and the base is identical, what keeps the tank from sliding up and down?
I was surprised it didn't leak on me. When I screwed it on that is what happened. I thought the top was all one machines piece. This tells me it's not. I pushed on it and it went back down with a click to the same size as the other.

Weird, just weird....clone? Wouldn't surprise me if it was...STmini has a big following now and is fairly high priced. $37 at my local b&m.

I bought that one at my local B&M. When I opened it, all the same stuff was there. It's supposed to be authentic. I thought it was weird too. Needless to say, I'm not using that one any more but I am using its RBA. Everything seems ok. I'm gonna have to order some RBA's for this.

That was on the original supplied OCC .5 ohm coil. I was able to get 21 tanks out of it and I could of got more if I didnt screw up. Was working last night and had to change a fuel filter on a helicopter. Some how or other a drop of fuel got into my STM and that was it. Nothing taste nastier than turbine fuel in a vape.
I only ran two flavors thru my STM. Cuttwood Unicorns Milk and a strawberry cream I DIY'd thats a real close clone to unicorn milk. At the moment I have my strawberry cream in it and the flavor is exactly as it was before getting fuel in it and the cloud production is exactly the same. I see no difference between the way the original coil with 21 tanks ran thru it was performing and the brand new one I just put in.

New vape flavor: Turbine Fuel. Someone would buy it and claim to like it...

red is yours, green is roughly what it should be like.
did u see buttkickers vid?

wicking.jpg
thanks to point it out... i got the idea and in real life it almost like 45 º but yes as you said, it can be better.

now with this wicking style... i got good flavor and performance but it drinks juice a lot... i notice a tank run out much faster than my previous wicks... another issue is flooding... i can feel the wick have so much juice and the drip tip deposits a lot of juice as well... is this to be expected?
