Im new at building, and probably shouldnt be, but how else do you learn? I watched several videos and have a good understanding of the process. my first coil was .8 and a little sloppy looking but it worked. the next one i built was .9 (the one im using now) Both coils worked no problem but my battery gets a little warm. Its an istick 30w. My question is what is the safest range (lowest to highest) i can build with this set up. it only gets warm when i chain vape. Thanks.

Well, Kanger sells 0.5 ohm heads for recommended use at between 15-30 watts so 0.5 must be OK. You can build as high as you reasonably want to. The Istick is good to 30 watts in wattage mode and I suspect would not let you pull more than 30 watts if you're in voltage mode. What do you have it set at now?

I don't have an Istick, but IMO the heat is probably coming from your sub tank when you chain vape. If this is true the battery will likely be warmer at the top, specially at first.

Hello,

You should check the rating of the battery. According to the Eleaf website the 30W iStick rated resistance range is 0.4 to 5 Ohms, It's best not to run devices at the limits though. Make sure to always use an Ohm meter first to check there are no shorts and actual resistance before you power up a new coil. Batteries do get warmer the more you fire them in a short space of time, it's a function of their internal resistance and how much power is being discharged. So the lower coil resistance you use the warmer a battery will get. You should avoid the battery getting too warm/hot as this is not good for long term battery life and could be an indication of something going wrong.
