Getting the first one working (and remembering how you did it) is key. I started with 7 wraps, and tried it. It worked, at least. Next one was 6 wraps. Kept experimenting until I found what *I* liked (which is somewhere between 2.1 and 2.5 ohms). 32 gauge is what most folk start with, and many try other gauges too, until they find what *they* like, which might be 10 wraps of 28 gauge, or 3 wraps of 34 gauge.

So we're clear, I never recommended wire I simply stated how to achieve your desired resistance using a tool that works pretty well for most people. I also never said anything about building sub ohm coils. 28awg for me, is easier to work with. It's thicker and more stable if there are hot spots to work out. Like biker bob says it's subjective. Don't say someone has given bad advice when you haven't payed attention to what was said. I started with 28awg, and it's still what I used most of the time.
